Mini Me.

Oh wow. The mini version of me. That's what they all say, including her parents. They say she looked more like my daughter than my brother's. Hmmm... Well, her lips does look like mine when I was a baby... Anyway, Charmaine had grown alot! Adorable but bad tempered. :p

I don't know why I always give in to you, but I just did. Sigh. What a sucker. You owe me big time.

The itch is killing me. It's affecting my neck now. Stupid me. Forgot that I'm not supposed to drink alcohol. One glass of wine and I'm suffering like hell now. My neck is red and had tons of huge red bumps. Maybe I should MC tomorrow... Ahhh... that'll be nice...

By the way, Happy Halloween. Boo!

Allergy.

Damn it. I'm allergic to something and I don't even know what. Huge red bumps, marks and dots started to appear after lunch yesterday. Whole body was itchy. Damn itchy. I suspect the chicken rice. Or the Caffe Mocha from Starbucks. Or maybe the combination of both. Blegh. It's so disgusting. It is as if I was bitten by tons of killer mosquitoes and the humongous red bumps are the results of it. Eeeaarrggghhhhhhhh!!

Results.

It came today while I was still in the office. Called home to get mom to open it for me. An A for Creative Excecution and Production. Bs for Cross Cultural Studies (?!) and Integrated Marketing Communications. C+ for Account Management. A 0.05 increase in CGPA. Phew. Approaching 3.00. Hahahaha...

1 month down, 2 more months to go. Can't wait to get back to college.

Did the things Nicole asked me to do yesterday. Halfway through, Terence asked me to help him with his timesheet. Excel it and printed it out nicely for him. Went back to Nicole's work. After that, Atie and Pebble (of Creative Dept) requested for me. Came back from lunch and helped both of them with research and mock-up.

Yen Ling, happy birthday!

To the 2 particular Bliques who got 2As and 2Bs/3Bs, congratulations! We did well this semester! Yaaaaaayyyyy! Time for celebration!

Wasp Studio.

First ever recording. First time stepping into a studio. And I meant REAL studio. Not those coochirat jamming studio. Anyway, I didn't 'contribute' my voice. Ramona (the talent) did the job instead. And Fariz. It was really cool witnessing the whole recording process. But 1 hour later, I was getting restless. B.O.R.I.N.G. Thank God the whole recording ended a while later.

No name cards. Sigh. Just a couple of handshakes and some smiles. Wanted to approach Dominic, the guy who looks like the owner, but he seems busy so I changed my mind. Oh well...

Back to office. Sat there stoning the day away. Fell asleep for a while but jolted up when I realised Nicole and Fariz was just next to me. Oppps. Jennette was using my computer to do her work so I sat next to her and tried to help.

Lilian came and asked me to help her search for a particular estimates. Work! Finally! Flipped through Yew Meng and Terence's file but couldn't find it. Nicole gave me some work too but she said I can do it tomorrow. Of course I'll do it tomorrow!

Can't wait. Fridayyyyyyyyy.... fundayyyyyyyy...

FA Boards.

First thing in the morning, I was bombarded with tons of FA boards. Changes here and there and I was supposed to brief Tay because Nicole had to attend some meeting. Waited till Tay got in and settled it with him.

Was waiting for Nicole to tell me about the recording, but she didn't. Looks like there's no recording considering that I was still making changes to the v/o script earlier.

Lunch was... crazy. Tze Wan, Mei Kim, Jieh Lyn, Yen Ling, Pui San, Vivian, Chin Hooi, Theo, Jennette, Li Mei and I. Had an expensive lunch at Three Monkeys Cafe. Or was it Cafe Du Soleil.... whatever...

After lunch, Nicole came to me and told me that I might be a voice talent for the recording tomorrow. Wooooo. Was happy. Was anticipating. Was everything under the sun... until someone came and deflated it.

.....

Deflated.

Hurt.

Tuesday, October 26, 2004

Blegh!

Didn't go for recording. Apparently the client hasn't approve the estimates so the recording is postponed to tomorrow. Nicole, please don't forget that you said you'll bring me along!

Today's work was fine. Ran in and out of Maxis Business Unit with FA boards. Dealt with Zok, Tay and Chiang. Called up Amin to check on some copy.

Faxed an estimate to client. Taught Caroline how to use the fax machine. She's a Senior Account Manager and she didn't know how to use the fax machine... hmmmm... wonder if she know how to use the photostat machine....

Helped Lilian with the AV brief. Photostat, cut and paste. Easy job.

Corrected a voice-over script (for the recording) at 6pm. Was hoping that Lilian could borrow me her computer to view the flash but she was busy. Asked Zhin (of KFC Dept.) if I could use Gary's. Managed to view the flash and got the script done in a while. 6.15pm. HOME.

Monday Blues?

Didn't feel it. Instead, I had fun. I'm not mad, okay.

Stepped into the office and was immediately "bombarded" with work. Changes on 2 FAs. Had to deal with Tze Zok the Chinese copywriter, Fariz, Amin the BM translator and Sean, the Artshop guy. Then, helped Nicole did some colour photostating. Interesting. After that, helped her to listen and type out some Maxis voice-over from a flash program. Then, wrote a new brief for the job and kept a copy for portfolio. Sadly, it was done under Nicole's name.

Helped Jennette with her KFC work. Had some occasional chat on MSN and helped Li Mei do the receptioning for 15 minutes. She was in the conference room with Chin Hooi and the entire BBDO staffs. Sigh. All except Jennette, Atie and I. Double sigh.

I was feeling sad about not being invited to attend the 'meeting' but thank God, Nicole cheered me up. How? She's bringing me to a recording tomorrow! Yay! Been waiting for it since the day I start internship. I hope she don't f-f-k me!

Oh, new Account Manager finally arrived. Caroline. She took "my" seat and now I'm sitting in Yew Meng's. Blardy comp. It will just suddenly restart while I'm doing my work. Need to constantly save my documents, just in case. Don't know why, but I find Yew Meng's place more comfortable. Well, not too exposed to the 'public' and it's a cubicle. I can MSN, I can surf. *Freedom* Best is, I'm now sitting in front of Nicole. So if she needs me, all I need to do is lift up my head.

Felt like decorating the cubicle. Hehehe. The front panel of the cubicle is so plain! Wanna bring some pictures and stick it there. Hmmmm....

Pizza Hut.

It's been a month. Got the pictures finally. Whatever happened to the rest?!?

Suyi, Lava, Chiams, Me and Jun.

We need to start acting our age...

BBQ Sheep.

Chicken wings, lamb chop, sausages, spaghetti, potato salad, wild mushrooms, garlic bread and watermelon. Oh, Swing whisky and red wine. Yum yum. Delicious. Especially my super-duper delicious, one and only, secret recipe lamb chop. Hahahahah. I can go on and on about it. :p

BBQ at the back-lane of the house. Very interesting. Makeshift BBQ pit built with bricks. Even more interesting. Had to cook while sitting on a small stool. Nevertheless, it was fun.

Wonder what I'm gonna do for my 21st birthday party... BBQ will be too... overused. Dinner somewhere outside? Moneeeeyyyy. Sigh. Maybe I should just think when the time is here.

As expected, you were mentioned. Sigh. Should I tell them about you, yet? I don't know.

Thanks for adding fuel to fire, Cyndi Chin. Grrrrr...

Menara Maxis.

Morning was super boring. Went to Wisma Semantan/HP Towers to get some pictures for Yew Meng/Terence. Vivian and Chin Hooi tagged along.

Lunch was great! McDonald's at Pusat Bandar Damansara. Thanks a million, Cyndi.

Took Yew Meng's car to Menara Maxis with Jennette. Despatch. Better than staying in the office. Jam on the way back to office. Stuck in Jalan Ampang for 45 minutes! Jennette was nagging. Hehehehehe. She forgotten that she had to do receptioning! Fortunately, we managed to get back on time. Tomorrow is my turn.

Left office at 6pm and went directly to Sunway Pyramid. Red Box! Hehehehe. It's been a looooooong time. Had fun but it was super expensive. RM130 for 3 person! I tell you... they con you big time, man.

You. You didn't reply my sms. Whyyyyyyyyyy?????

Today.

Wednesday! Middle of the week! Yay!

Did some major excel-ling today. Took half the day, which is good. Filed all the September ads for Yew Meng. Did something kinda bad, but I'm not gonna say what. He taught me anyway. :p

Received a supplementary brief from Yew Meng. Supposed to go to Wisma Semantan/HP Towers to get some pictures but he hasn't brief me yet so I'm going to do that task tomorrow. At least I know that I've something to do tomorrow. Heh. Better than sitting in the office and rot. I realised that he is the only one who actually gives me the chance to try out stuffs. Real stuffs. Sadly though, he's leaving for O&M. Sigh

You called! Yay! Was about to call you but you called first. Even better. You sounded really down and sad today. Cheer up! I'm here for you. These obstacles will not and should not bring you down. I have faith in you.

Newspaper.

I'm hating internship. I'm not getting anything to do. First two weeks was fine but these two days, my workload dropped. Drastically. All I did for the past 2 days was flipping newspapers and tear out the ads. I flipped through two months' newspapers. Utusan Malaysia, Sin Chew Jit Poh and The Star. Tore out all the telco ads and excel the headlines.

Whatever happened to writing briefs?! Whatever happened to running around the department?! Whatever happened to copywriting?! Argh!! I need work! I can't sit in the office for another 9 hours without any work. I rather die.

Did receptioning today. Received about 3 calls. What a great experience, I think. Didn't screw up the console, yet. Didn't divert the wrong extension, yet. Phew.

I was quite lonely today. Hate to feel that way but I did. The other 3 had work to do. They were busy. I was alone in Maxis Business Unit, not doing anything. MSN was very silent. It hardly blinks. There was no messages/reply. Sigh. Everyone's status is either 'away' or 'busy'. Except mine, and few others. There's hardly any conversation today. Just some occasional hi and bye and some short chats. Why does this always happen when I need to talk, when I need someone to cheer me up and when I need someone to un-bore me?

Where are you when I need you?

Love Battlefield.

Been waiting for this movie for ages! Finally watched it on DVD. It didn't disappoint me, thank god. Worth the wait and anticipation. Sad movie. Not predictable. Also, it makes you wonder to what extend you would sacrifice for your loved ones...

Review from aznfilms: *Spoilers*
Many people had little to no expectations for Love Battlefield. For one, it reminds us of the Pat Benator '80s classic and second, Director Soi Pou Cheng is widely known for his horror films (Horror Hotline, New Blood). But who knew that Love Battlefield would turn out as good as it did? The film is a very emotionally involving drama. While everyone can pretty much write their own ending in the first five minutes of the film, the journey that Soi Cheng walks us through to that end is what makes the film rather good. The characters are vibrantly well written. All the cops, all the crooks, and Ka Yui and Ching all have their attitudes and personas - most of which clash in one way or another. Kind of like a Park Chan Wook film where he begs the question, "what would you do if this happened to you?" Would you turn to the police or would you take it upon yourself to save your loved one? Love Battlefield takes us through the choices and the consequences of choosing either or and ultimately delivers in very well written characters with a strong detachment to each involved.

Hmmm... what's next on my list? Three...Extremes: Dumplings, Twins Effect 2 and Taegukgi. Can't wait to watch Three...Extremes: Dumplings and scare the hell outta myself. I can't believe I actually bought that DVD, considering that I don't watch horror movies. Anybody wanna volunteer to watch it with me?

Out.

Today was actually quite boring. The new AM (Caroline) is coming in tomorrow so no computer for me until next week. I don't know how I'm going to survive the next 4 days. Definitely can't survive without my MSN. And definitely can't survive without talking to a certain someone.

Was out of the office for about 2 hours today. Went to Utusan Malaysia office and Jaya Supermarket with Yew Meng. Chatted along the way. His last day in BBDO is this Friday! :( A really great guy but sadly, won't be able to work with him anymore. He's going over to O&M. He took my number, and said just in case he need an AE in O&M in the future. Hah.

Anyway, I had to tear out the telco ads from the papers we brought back. Took me 2 hours. Well, at least its something to do. 5.45pm, Jennette had to do some binding work. Took over her for the receptionist job. The phone rang once, I picked it up and blardy hell, the fella at the other end hung up on me. Chis.

Oh, received an email from Vicky. Heheheh. Surprise surprise. She gave me some pointers and I will definitely take note of it. Will try my best to change. I wouldn't wanna flunk this damn internship. Can't imagine myself going through the same shit all over again.

Life.

I guess life is short afterall. When I was reading the paper this morning, I read about an accident involving a girl by the name of Sumitra. The case didn't hit me at all. I mean, accidents happen daily, I can't be bothered about every single accidents that happens.

I was nicely surfing Friendster when I saw a post by a friend. The girl who died is his friend. I read his message. It was sad but it has nothing gotta do with me so I wasn't really bothered..... until another friend came and told me that Sumitra is her friend too.

It hits me suddenly. What if I was in their situation? What if I lived to see a friend die? Or they lived to see me die?

We wouldn't know what will happen tomorrow. Just in case I won't have the chance again to witness another tomorrow, to all my friends I've ever known, I love you guys and thanks so much for being there for me.

Daniel Wu.

I've posted about him before? Oh, sorry. I think I did but I can't help it. Major hottie. Those who don't agree can go and jump down from a building.

He's a baddie in New Police Story. A darn good looking baddie. Eek! *Suit fetish* Looking good in suit. Wwwwweeeeeeeeeee. *Blink blink*

Hmmm... wonder when's the next Daniel Wu movie coming out......

Speaking about New Police Story, it's a really good movie. *Spoilers!* The cast is fine. Lotsa EEG singers appeared as cameos. Lotsa product placements and advertisements as well. I find the introduction part most disturbing. Imagine, I was nicely sitting down thinking that I could enjoy the movie and the next 30 minutes, I see people being tied high up and fall to their death. Ugh.

You.

Today was fun. Not doing much but lunch. Didn't buy anything but I know you would if I assured you that it looks good on you. Never knew my opinion was so influential. Bumped into a friend. Surprise surprise.

Oh, that 3-word you said in the car, sweet but hair-raising. Blame the rain and the air cond. :p

Have I ever mentioned that it's damn comfortable being with you? I can be crazy. I can talk nonsense (and get whacked for it). I can stare and you'll get what I mean. You are not afraid to burst my bubble when I put hopes too high. Sigh...

You know what? My phone bill came yesterday. The amount soar. I wonder if your's increased too...

Another Friday!

Weeeeeeeeeeee. Friday is here again! Arrived in office at 9am and Terence had work prepared for me. 2 jobs. Simple task. Brief Atie about the changes and let her do the job. Next, brief Zamri (IACT senior) about a copywriting job. Done. Boring day ahead. After lunch, Terence had another job for me. He brief me about some minor changes in the FA and instructed me to see Tay, the Artshop guy. Managed to finish that in a while too.

Interesting thing happened today. Joanne called Jennette, Li Mei and I. Well, apparently, the actual receptionist is allowed to leave at 5.30pm because of the puasa season. The office closes at 6pm so obviously they needed someone to pick up the calls. So... we are the lucky candidates. I was shocked when she told us to be temporary receptionist! I glanced at the phone console and my eyes almost popped out. Whoa... shit... I hope I don't screw up the damn machine and divert the wrong extension to the wrong people!

Good news! Errr... maybe. Nicole said we might get paid! RM400! Better than nothing...

Thursday, October 14, 2004

Weee...

I did only 1 thing in office the whole day. A leaflet for Maxis. Took my sweet sweet time doing it since it's due tomorrow. Came out with all the wordy stuffs, except the headline and the visual. Thanks, Jennette, for helping me out with the headline. Thanks for jumpstarting my brain too. We shall do more 'bumper-chairs' tomorrow. =) Anyway, Fariz is really one funny guy. And sometimes, mysterious. He'll just appear behind me suddenly. Caught me doing some personal surfing few times. Opps.. can't blame me that I have no work...

I overheard someone by the name of Nancy gave birth to a baby boy. She must be some bitch, considering that Yew Meng 'cursed' her many times. Hahahaha. Instead of saying that he's going to visit her in the hospital, he said he's going to her funeral. Tsk tsk tsk.

Talked on the phone for approximately 30 minutes. You again. Hahaha. Interesting day, eh? Now you know how's my life is like in office. Anyway, I knew you'll manage. You always did. Oh, I didn't say this on MSN earlier. I'm PROUD *high context* of you too. :p So when do I get the "privilege" to belanja (sigh...) you, eh? We sama-sama share the big portion. *Wink*

My dear friend in Edinburgh. Sigh. Sorry la. Will tell you about the certain 'mysterious guy on the phone' when the time is right. Don't merajuk. :p

Work.

There goes another day. Time seems to pass really fast once you get used to the environment. I'm slowly accepting my colleagues and this working life. Oh, I'm also getting used to the 2nd hand smokes I'm inhaling every single day, for 9 hours non stop. This is how it's like working in an ad agency.

Today. What did I do? Rewrite an article for Yew Meng. Rewrite a brief for Nicole. Unfortunately, I can't put the brief under my name. But what the heck, I know I did it and I'm proud of it. Helped Nicole rewrite a ringtone download instruction article. Helped Terence to put the kuih-muih onto the plates < sigh.

Was surfing Friendster when Fariz caught me doing nothing. Uh oh. I told him I've got nothing to do. He gave me a new brief and asked me to help him with the copy which is due on Friday. Sigh. It's better than nothing. At least I'm getting some real stuffs to do. Anyway, the new brief is REALLY thick and it's now laying on my table, untouched...

Received an email from G. Surprise surprise. Never thought I'll ever gonna see the pictures again. Heheheh. Anyway, really glad he took the effort to scan 'em and upload it. The pictures are great. It's definitely something we wont't be able to take ever again.

^ The blood and soul of IAA49.

Looking at the pictures, I realised how much we've changed physically and mentally. Long hair became short hair. Short hair became long hair. We have a mother-to-be. And we suddenly realise the friends we thought we knew aren't the same person we used to know. All these happened in just 2 years. Not a short period and not a long period either. It's funny how things changes so fast.

Tuesday, October 12, 2004

Blique.

Have I ever mention how much I love hanging out with Bliques? I miss each and everyone of you to bits. Well.... besides the 2 gila-gila person I've been hanging out with and Li Mei, my BBDO colleague. It's been a month since we went out together as a group. Sadly, Weng Wah can't make it. Anyway, dinner was really fun. Can't believe we are so workaholic. Discussing work over dinner! Hahaha. Blique will always be Blique. Brains only functions when we sit together. Really miss the time when we sat together and did our discussions. Sigh. Just 2 and a half months more. Can't wait to get back to college. Though we'll be separated according to our major, but at least, we can still see each other.

Conned and bribed Cyndi to pick me from Wisma UOA. Hahahaha. A lil' traffic jam won't hurt you, girl. At least you know where's my office now. I must really thank you for saving me from embarrassment. Hehehehe. *High Context* Don't worry so much about that stoopid powerpoint. I know you'll manage.

Internship. Ahhh. Such an over-used term in my dictionary. Let me recall what I did today. Bought the remaining ads from MediaBanc. Organized it according to the telco providers. Printed all out and wrote a brand analysis on Microsoft Excel and realised that I don't know how to use Excel. Well, I managed to get it done anyway. Phew. Next, did some research on Push To Talk service. Maxis is coming out with that soon. First in Malaysia. Found some competitors. Last but not least, powerpoint. Why is it that when you have to do powerpoint, Cyndi Chin, I'll end up doing one as well? This is the 2nd time that the same thing happened. Managed to finish everything by 6pm and dashed off for Blique's dinner at One Utama. I think Nicole is kinda annoyed that I leave exactly at 6pm. Hehehe. Oh well. I'm just a trainee. They can't expect me to stay over-time. I'm not gonna do that unless I'm really required too.

Anyway, Li Mei overheard that we are getting allowance. Yay! I hope it's true! I don't wanna be working like a slave and not getting paid. But then again, money isn't everything. As long as I learn something in this 3 months, not getting paid is fine by me.

Monday, October 11, 2004

Sigh.

Talking to you again tonight. It's becoming like a daily routine. Now..... that's really bad. Phone bills!!! You better pay half. Hehehehe. Partially, we need to blame it on the stoopid MSN for dying on us. Prevented us from talking for free. Well........ maybe not. You were too darn BUSY anywaaaaaay. Not like you have the time to MSN. Hah.

Week 2 of internship. Spent the entire day buying ads from Mediabanc. There's still 40 pages to go through. Saved it for tomorrow, knowing that I won't have anything else to do, unlike SOMEONE. Hehehehehehehe. Glad you've been learning loads. Hope I can benefit from it. :p

Oh Wow... Interesting...

Do you work in advertising or are you a prostitute?
23 pointers to clue you in on whether you're an advertising creative or simply a prostitute.

1. You work very odd hours.

2. You are paid a lot of money to keep your client happy.

3. You are paid well but your pimp gets most of the money.

4. You charge by the hour but your time can be extended for the right price.

5. You are not proud of what you do.

6. Creating fantasies for your clients is rewarded.

7. It's difficult to have a family.

8. You have no job satisfaction.

9. If a client beats you up, the pimp just sends you to another client.

10. You are embarrassed to tell people what you do for a living.

11. People ask you, "What do you do?" and you can't explain it.

12. Your family hardly recognizes you at reunions (at least the reunions you attend.)

13. Your friends have distanced themselves from you and you're left hanging with only other "professionals."

14. Your client always wants to know how much you charge and what they get for the money.

15. Your pimp drives nice cars like Mercedes or BMWs.

16. Your pimp encourages drinking and you become addicted to drugs to ease the pain of it all.

17. You know the pimp is charging more than you are worth but if the client is foolish enough to pay it's not your problem.

18. When you leave to go see a client, you look great, but return looking like hell (compare your appearance on Monday AM to Friday PM).

19. You are rated on your "performance" in an excruciating ordeal.

20. Even though you get paid the big bucks, it's the client who walks away smiling.

21. The client always thinks your "cut" of your billing rate is higher than it actually is, and in turn, expects miracles from you.

22. When you deduct your "take" from your billing rate, you constantly wonder if you could get a better deal with another pimp.

23. Everyday you wake up and tell yourself, "I'm not going to be doing this stuff the rest of my life.

Memories.

Weeeeeeee. Look what my mom found. My childhood toy! My Little Pony. They are still in good condition. Yay! I wonder whatever happened to my Polly Pockets.... Hope I can find them when I move house later this year. Really hope to find my old toys and other stuffs that I grew up with. I'm still looking for a Malay comic book. It went missing mysteriously. It's called "Din Teksi" and the cartoonist is Nan. Best Malay comic I've ever read.

My post below generated many questions from fellow friends. Hahahaha. This is soooooo interesting. I'm not gonna tell anybody anything. It's high context. Only between me and the certain someone mentioned. ;)

Secret.

Once a coffeeholic, forever a coffeeholic. I just can't leave without 'em. A regular Vanilla Latte and a small Mocha Ice Blended in just 3 hours. Lurveeeeee the coffee taste in my mouth.

Going out with you is always fun. Don't mind my mom. Over protective. If she ever mention anything about the *toot* thing, I'll just say yes to her. I rather it be you than someone else. Hahahaha. She'll probably just drop dead there. Hmmmm... interesting.

I'm seriously curious though. I wonder if she ever felt that way about you and me. *pauses and thinks* Errrr..... ewwwwwwww.

I agree with you. I think we should just keep our relationship a secret. ;)

Success?

"What's success to you", you asked.

To me, success is not about the graduation certificates. It's not about being the big shot in a company. It's not about making all dreams come true. It's not about making a difference in my own life or the life of other people. It's not about the compliments people give you. It's not about giving all you have.

Success is being able to tell yourself that you've tried. Success is being able to held your own head high. In life, things does not always go the way you predicted and hoped. Bumpy rides are expected. Life is not maths. It cannot be calculated. Working hard for something does not always guarantee a reward.

Hopes and dreams. They are our motivators. They motivate us to work harder. We hope to succeed. We dream to achieve. Dream come true is the bonus. The process of making the dream come true is the success.

I've never been through the life you are going through now. I don't understand when you talk about your frustrations. All I can say is that, I listen and I burst your bubble whenever necessary. Don't make life miserable over something that's not meant to be. Be it the job. The education. The love. The dreams. The hopes. What's not yours won't be yours. You've tried. You did all you could.

Now, ask your heart and feel no regrets. That's success.

T.G.I.F!

Friday! I love Friday! Friday is fun. Friday is casual. Everyone appeared in jeans and sneakers to work today. So did I. Felt like myself once I'm in my jeans. Started to loosen up. Started to chill. I feel so restricted in formal wears. I can't live without my jeans, t-shirts and sneakers! Can't wait for another Friday.

Time to reflect on what I did in BBDO in the past few days:

Monday:
Assigned to Maxis Business Unit. Was introduced to the staffs by Lilian, the traffic controller. Bummed around. Attended a small briefing consisting of Fariz, Nicole and myself. MSN. Typed a letter. Proof-read a Maxis recruitment ad. Made changes on Atie's Mac. Send a couple of emails to client. MSN. Home.

Tuesday:
MSN. Helped Terence with some copywriting work. Helped Nicole with some translating work. Typed out a supplementary brief under Yew Meng's guidance. Printed and photostated the brief for Lilian, ArtShop and the rest of the staffs. Walked over to ArtShop to brief Tay, the head, about the brief. Took a copy of the brief for portfolio. Job completed. MSN. Home.

Wednesday:
MSN. Proof-read the same recruitment ad again. Made few more changes. Finalised. Brief Tay about the changes. Final artwork (FA) came back. Proof-read again. Passed the FA to Fariz. Helped Fariz with copywriting. Came out with 26 copy. Spent rest of the afternoon bumming around. MSN. Home.

Thursday:
MSN. Helped Nicole sort out 4 years of Maxis ads. Viewed some TVC. Started doing powerpoint. Chin Hooi came over to help me create a template. Continue doing powerpoint. Chin Hooi came over again to help me compress the file. Completed the whole thing at 6pm. Home.

Friday:
MSN. Introduced myself during the staff meeting. MSN. Helped Nicole "buy" ads online. Edited the same powerpoint. Finished at 6. Home.

Powerpoint.

That's what I did for the whole day. I think I took 7 hours to do the damn thing. You think it's crazy? Wait till you see the amount of ads I have to put into the powerpoint. 4 years of Maxis press ads. 4 YEARS! Sat there until my ass hurts. Fortunately, there's a kind soul nice enough to entertain me on MSN. I'm still waiting for my Genki. :p

Chatted with Atie. Found out that she's a mother of 2, in this field for over 10 years and previously worked in McCann and some other big shot companies. A freelancer now. She's the first person I chatted casually with in office. Well, beside Nicole who asked about how I'm dealing with the environment...

I really pity Jennette. She was assigned all the lousy task in BBDO. Cut newspapers and organise posters. Most productive was doing the competitive analysis. Besides that, she sat the whole day in the office (in Maxis Business Unit). She really need to talk to Vicky. It can't go on like this for 3 months.

Chin Hooi was out again today. Went to a couple of places to look for black envelopes. Thought he'll be back by lunch time. Wanted him to buy some food (getting sick of 'chap fan'). Sigh. Oh, and I need to thank him for helping me with the powerpoint template.

Li Mei is too far to be seen. Hope she's doing fine in the KFC creative department. At least she's using a Mac. Mac Rules! I'm stuck with a pc, for goodness sake. Luckily, I don't have to use the Ctrl+Alt+Del button yet. *Touch wood* Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!

Maxis Brief.

Day 2 is waaaaaaaaaaaaay better.

Arrived in office at 9am. My colleagues arrived 30mins later. Yew Meng taught me some basic things I needed to know about BBDO. Finally. Then he gave me a task. Write a supplementary brief for Maxis recruitment ad. He told me what to do and told me to hold on to it until the client approves the first artwork. So I waited till 3 something and completed the whole typing, printing, photostating and running thing by 5pm. Traffic Controller, Lilian allowed me to take a copy home for my future portfolio. Yay!

Terence gave me some copywriting work to do. Came out with 5 copy. Hopefully its okay.

Helped Nicole do some translation for the Maxis voice thingy. It was quite easy, except that there's tons for me to do.

Found out that the department is looking for some talents for some shooting. Hope I can tag along for the shooting!

Wonder what's up tomorrow...

Dumbannie.

Oh wow. I was just wondering what shit I just got myself into. I asked this copywriter guy, Fariz, about the working hours. He looked at me, puzzled. Then he said, "what working hours? Are you serious?" Oh. Just the answer I need on the first day. Anyway, he reluctantly told me that it's 9am to 6pm. Well, I'm sure it'll last longer than that.

Today, as I was preparing to go home at 6pm, this guy called Terence, came to me and said, "Annie, would like like to join us for the briefing?" Oh shit. Guess he saw that look on my face. He let me go and said I can join them for the next session. Just as that sentence came out, I knew I made the wrong decision. *Bang head to wall* An opportunity to learn, and I let it fly away. Dumbannie. Stupidannie.

Boring day, but I was partially thankful. I learned more thing today as compared to Li Mei (cutting cardboard), Jennette (cut newspaper and read about Colonel Sanders) and Chin Hooi (researched about paints). I attended a small briefing, proof-read a recruitment ad, typed a letter and sent a couple of emails. *Wow* Shessh.

I wonder what's tomorrow gonna be like. Can't wait for the excitement. Can't wait to sit 9 hours in the office and doing nothing. Well, that's if I work 9am to 6pm tomorrow........ Otherwise, few more extra hours of sitting and doing nothing.

Dead.

Argh. The disadvantage of traveling. Now I'm like a dead duck. Flu. Cough. And internship starts tomorrow. My voice is so sexy. This is bad. I sound so manly. Luckily, it's just the first day tomorrow. Imagine I have to meet clients with this voice.

Been playing with Charmaine alot, since she's staying here for 2 days. Hope I didn't pass the virus to her. *Opps* Hope she's resistant to virus!

The cough syrup is still taking effect. I'm so so so sleepy. And I'm so so so bored. Well, this has nothing gotta do wih the cough syrup. Just felt like telling the world that I've got no life on this Sunday afternoon. Huh? Who am I kidding? I never had a life.

Sigh. Need to "meditate". Need to prepare physically and mentally for the internship. For the very first time, I'm entering the world of business. The dog eat dog world. It's either I eat you, or you eat me. Gotta go sharpen my teeth for the feast. ;)

Malacca.

Hot. Exhausted. Couldn't breathe.

Left at around 10am from Taipan Subang. Reached Malacca at about 12.30pm. First stop, chicken rice! After that, checked out The Stadhuys. Walked along Jonker Street and went in to some shops. One of the antique shop is really good. Saw many antique items. I've always wanted to get an old dial phone. I like playing with the 'dial-wheel'. Hmmm... but imagine if I have to redial a handphone number with that old dial phone. It's gonna take me forever to call a person...

Expectations.

Met up with Benjamin and his friend, Simon at Kim Gary today. Forgotten to bring his Marlboro Ciggys. Opps. Was rushing to Damansara Heights to check out Wisma UOA (BBDO) and I totally forgotten about the ciggy. I hate going to Mid Valley. Traffic jam everywhere and the parking lot are pretty scary too.

Learned many things from him today. The advertsing industry. How to be a smart intern. How to 'look as if you're working when you're not'. What to expect from BBDO and the creative department. Who is who in BBDO. Who is bitchy. Who is backstabber. Who is the one I should 'bodek'. Hmmm... interesting.

One-day trip to Melaka tomorrow. We are SO free. Chicken rice balls, here we comeeeeee. Ambitious three musketeers. Drive all the way to Melaka just to eat and we are not even familiar with the town. Hope we don't go missing...
