Yep. I got lost in Penang while trying to look for the Him Heang biscuit shop. Jun drove to somewhere else and I drove to somewhere else. Got directions from Tze Wan and I am supposed to 'lead' Jun to the place. In the end, she found the place first and I got lost with Chia May (-_-")
Penang drivers are g.a.n.a.s. (peace, Tze Wan). Thank God I am too. Hahahahaha. The more they don't let me out of the junction or change lanes, the more I jut out. Kalau berani, langgar la! I think I almost frighten Chia May to death when I 'blocked' the traffic at the Gurney roundabout to let Jun pass and at this junction where I forced my way out. Remember, Chia May? :D
Year 2006 is just about 28 minutes away. Was at my cousin's place for a 'gathering' earlier. So dead tired now so I am staying at home, rest and spend my new year with 'chau gong'.
To all you folks out there, I wish ya all a very Happy New Year!!
If you didn't know already, I am flying off exactly 1 month from today. Sigh.

Yo!
Ngor fan lei laaaaaaaa (I am back)!!!!
I hate it when time passes really fast when I am enjoying life. Christmas in Hong Kong is mad. Everywhere I turn, I see human. It was superbly crowded. While my mom and my bro was in the hotel sleeping, me and my dad went to Canton Road for the Christmas countdown. Coincidentally, a Hong Kong band called Grasshoppers were there as well for a performance + countdown. Call it my luck! Besides Grasshoppers, there were Ron Ng and NIKI CHOW! Well, from my place, I can only see a peanut-sized Niki Chow but what the heck! Better than nothing.

Countdown at Canton Road with Niki Chow, Ron Ng, Grasshoppers and emcee Jerry Lam
On Christmas Day itself, we were walking about in Harbour City doing some last minute shopping. Me and my bro was nicely walking and we saw Chapman To (this guy from Infernal Affairs, Initial-D etc) and his wife walking towards us and went into a boutique. First time seeing celebrities so casually. :D

Look! I can stretch my legs all the way out!

Appetizer look sooooooo much nicer when you're paying a bomb for it...

Macau's famous casino

Popular landmark, the Ruins of St. Paul

Macau Tower

See through glass floor

Me and my bro are scared of heights so it is particularly challenging for both of us to stand on the glass floor....

Macau's famous pork chop bun

For the past 10 years or so, my parents has been patronising this dried seafood shop in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

Roasted goose drumstick rice!!!!!!!! Must eat if you ever go to Hong Kong

Hong Kong Disneyland. The place where they literally rob you off your savings...

Looks like every other Disneyland on the planet...

Timon!

Some of the 350 000 people estimated to be in Tsim Sha Tsui on Christmas Eve

Didn't buy anything else except these CDs and DVDs

Lounge.
Aaaaaaaaahhhh. The bliss of business class.
Had light breakfast at the KLIA Cathay Pacific Lounge few minutes ago. Nothing special. Just some baked beans, scrambled eggs and french toast. I was told that they will be serving food "non-stop" on the flight so I am trying not too eat too much now.
Had just received my New Zealand accomodation contract. Just in time! Thank God for the free internet access they provide here at the lounge.
The place I am sitting here is freaking hot. Directly under the spotlight. Since I am sweating like a pig now, I shall sign off and head to a cooler place. See you folks soon!

Winterfest.

Life's pretty boring lately (explains the lack of post). Purchased Hong Kong Disneyland tickets online an hour ago. Wasn't planning to go but dad insisted so I had to purchase the tickets in advance. HK$1400 (RM700) for 4 blardy adult admission! Talk about daylight robbery!! If only we can make it on 23rd December, it'll save us about RM120. Naturally and obviously, 24th is the peak time, hence more money.
So here's the itinerary:
22th, arriving at Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok International Airport. Then we're taking the ferry (I think) to Macau. Spending a night there at Holiday Inn Hotel. The last time I went to Macau, I was about 2 or 3 years old I think. Don't remember much except the trademark landmark of Macau, which I don't know what it is called in English. :/
23rd, back to Hong Kong and there's where the fun begins! Shop shop shop shop shoppppppppp!! Eat eat eat eat eattttttt!! Wong Kok Char Chan Teng and Kim Gary, they suck big time, you know. Any char chan teng in Hong Kong serve better food then them! Being winter, the long-awaited Chinese waxed meat rice in claypot is back! Muahahahaha! I can still taste the one I had 2 years ago... yummy!
24th, heading to Disneyland first thing in the morning. Probably gonna spend few hours there and that's it. It's Christmas eve, baybeh! There's so many things to do and see in Hong Kong on Christmas eve! The best thing is when they close the "main" streets and human beings literally pours out onto the streets! Gonna be a freaking crowded day, I tell ya! Will snap some photos, if possible.
25th, we always leave Hong Kong on Christmas day so this is the first time we'll be there on Christmas day itself. I suppose its gonna be a quiet day on the street because of previous night's partying! Maybe we'll head to Kowloon Tong (not for those pleasure seeking entertainments!) and burn some ringgits shopping at Festive Walk Shopping Centre. Bought some pre-packed curry fishball from the supermarket there on my previous trip to Hong Kong and it tasted surprisingly good! Going back for more!! :p
26th is gonna be bye-bye. Back to reality. Sigh.
The best thing about this trip (besides the celebrations) is going to be the flight journey. We're flying business class, baybeeeeh!!! Well, if we had a choice we'll fly economy class, obviously. Its just a 3 hour 15 minutes flight anyway. But my dad (sigh) tend to make last minute decisions and he thinks he owns the plane. He thinks that there's always flight tickets waiting for him and all he has to do is just call up and confirm. He never learns though. He must be pretty desperate this time around. Otherwise he won't agree to fly business class! Thankfully, Cathay Pacific is having the buy 1 free 1 promotion so we just had to buy 2 tickets and get the other 2 for free!
One day break in between and I'll head to Penang with Jun, Jonny, Emma and maybe Su Yi on 28th. Road trip!!!!!! Gonna be fun!
Once January comes, I have to really prepare for New Zealand. Take note, friends. I AM LEAVING ON 31st JANUARY 2006. Will be flying off with my parents. We're touring New Zealand before stopping in Auckland. Tell me, somebody, anybody, how do I travel with all my luggages?!

Reunion?
Friend's birthday party is the best time for me to catch up with other high school friends whom I lost contact with ever since I left school. Caught up with a few of them at Mary Ann's party today. One is in Adelaide doing dentistry and another two is doing acccountancy in Kedah and Sunway College respectively. I think the next time I talk to them, we'll all be working adults already...

Birthday Gift.
My mom is celebrating her birthday this coming Sunday and we are bringing her to KL Hilton for a buffet dinner. Like every other year, we children crack our heads thinking of things to buy for her. Being a mother who has everything, it gets pretty hard, you know. Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Rolex, BMW, diamond or holiday packages? She would love 'em all but we children cannot afford to buy any one of that abovementioned items!!
This year is 'new handphone year'. Mom bought me and my fourth brother a new handphone each and she'll get another for my third brother soon. Proud of our new 2.0 megapixel camera phones, we often take it out and snap photos. Sometimes I think the flash from our phones blinded our own eyes. Here we are 'showing' off our new phones and not realising that our mother is still using the Nokia 8310, which I gave to her when she bought me a Sony Ericsson T610 two years back has turned really old and cracks started to appear on the casing. All of us owns a handphone with a camera, even my dad (although he doesn't use it)!
I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier. Gotta thank Szun, my 2nd sis-in-law for mentioning it. Went to Low Yat Plaza just now and bought our mother a spanking new handphone! With camera, of course! And it's Samsung, the brand my dad is currently using. (^_^)

SGH-E530C (Lavender Pink)
Such a motherly phone. Comes in a colour she'll like and humongous digit display! Hope she likes it!
Oh, one cute picture to share;

Forms.
Did I ever tell anyone how much I hate filling up forms? Why must all forms be filled in capital letters? And why must all forms ask so many questions as if they are finding out about your ancestors and what not? I am having difficulties trying to fill up my New Zealand student visa application forms. Can't they just ask the question directly and not twist and turn the England? You know how they always remind you that you have to fill up the forms correctly and accurately? Well... with the bombastic England, I have to be extra careful.
Tentatively, I'll be flying off on 31st January 2006. Didn't realise its so soon until Jun mentioned it (thanks alot!). My parents is taking the opportunity to head to New Zealand for their annual Chinese New Year holiday. If everything goes according to plan, we'll reach Auckland on the 8th of February, just in time for my uni orientation on the 9th. Then they'll stay for another 2 days to accompany me.
Haven't been looking at the calendar lately. Have no idea that the clock is ticking so fast. I have yet to do my medical check-up and visa application 'cos the stupid accomodation rep from NZ is taking his sweet sweet time processing my accomodation application. I guess I better get my medical check-up done after I come back from Hong Kong. Then hopefully by then my accomodation is approved, then send in the forms to Singapore for my visa application.
Meanwhile, I need to do shopping for all my necessities!!! Waaaaaaaaaaahh!! So many things, so little time!!

Innocent.
Since I am flying off next year, I decided to follow my parents to the Section 17 wet market this morning to learn to buy vegetables and stuffs. Coincidentally, my brother and sister in law wanted to go as well. So there we were, a car-load full and off we went.
It was exceptionally jammed with cars today (according to my mother la). We soon found out why. Charmaine Sheh and Julian Cheung will be at the wet market (go figure) to do a promotional thing for Astro's chinese award ceremony due to be held next year. Though I saw the ads on Astro all the time, being not able to read Chinese, I didn't bother. But since we were there, my sis in law, brother and I decided to stay for a while and watch. :p
My eldest brother was there to. To shop, obviously but I soon found out that after buying his stuffs, he stayed and watch as well, and STOOD ON THE FIRST ROW! Somemore dare to accuse me that I came just to watch them. Honest! I am innocent! It was purely I-want-to-learn-how-to-buy-vegetables!! In the end, I didn't learn anything but saw 2 TVB stars instead. (-_-")

Charmaine Sheh and Julian Cheung
(abit blur 'cos taken with my phone with maximum zoom)
By the way, I called my eldest sis in law because I thought she was there as well. Manatau she was at home so she was like, "Charmaine Sheh?! At the market?! Szun (my other sis in law) is with you?! Weih! Why you both go also never call me?!" Then she called me back in a short while and said, "Eh, tell your taiko (eldest bro) to come home early. Don't stay and look at pretty girl!"

Departure Lounge has another new staff today. 17 year old girl who had just finished her SPM. Conversations with her reminds me of my teenage years. Uncertainties and insecurities. Where and how to find out about college courses... etc etc. She had also asked me a classic question. One that I have never been asked for a very very very long time.
"Who's your favourite actor?"
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!! It was like what I (or most of us) used to ask each other last time! Damn classic. For that moment, I was like... "Okaaaaaaaaaay.... confirm she just finished high school". So what's my answer? "Urrrmm, there's no specific person. I just watch anything I find it interesting". Muahahahaha! :p
Frankly, I can't really think of anyone. Hmmmmm... not Western ones-la. If you ask me the chinese wayang ones, I'll probably drown you with names. Hahahahahah!
Oh yeah, I'll be going back to Departure Lounge once in a while to help out during the peak hours (12pm - 2pm). No commitments though. My own personal things are still my priority. Will only go back when I have nothing much to do at home. :p
By the way, new menu is out. Pasta. :D

False Alarm.
Thank God it was a false alarm. My molar isn't actually 'wiggly'. Just like what my mom said, it's heatiness. :D
Been listening to Rainie Yang's cd alot these few days. Since I am a sucker for power ballads, I find this is a really a great album. I totally forgotten that I've seen one of her previous idol drama, 'Tomorrow', starring Shawn Yue (of Infernal Affairs and Initial-D fame). Rummaged my vcd collection and I found this;

An autograph by Rainie herself on the episode 1 vcd. On the episode 2 vcd, I have Shawn Yue's autograph. Got it few years back when they came over to Malaysia with the rest of the 'Tomorrow' cast for promotional tour. Back then, Shawn Yue was just a small fry. He is actually quite good-looking, you know!
And Minggy Liu, Rainie Yang is cute, in the sense that she looks more like a 'lil kid 'cos she's quite..... 'ketot'

Shit.
The one thing I hate most is the visit to the dentist. One of my molar tooth is giving me problems. Everytime I chew on something, I'll feel the 'tingy' and painful feeling on my gums. I have no idea whether its a toothache or not. Mother said its "fake-fire" (heaty) [go figure]. It's been almost 1 week already and the pain is still here. Still contemplating whether I should visit the dentist (there's a new dental clinic near Departure Lounge -_-") or not.
Hate that buzzzzzzzingggg sound every dental clinic has. Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Gives me the chill.
Actually, what I worry most is they have to remove the molar. EeeeEEeeeee! I cannot imagine myself without that molar. Like one 'lubang' in my mouth!
Now I really hope its "fake-fire"......

Freakin' Tired.
I am so so so freakin' tired. Big Boss cut his hand while making coleslaw. He was supposed to slice the onion and I have no idea why he sliced his finger instead. I was on my way to Cold Storage when I received an emergency call from Karen, asking me to turn back 'cos the boss had to go to the clinic. Damn it. Just when I was craving for Ikea's Swedish Meatball for lunch. #$%^$
Boss had to gross me out with the whole scenario. How he was slicing the onion with the 'slicer' (?!) and suddenly sliced his right thumb. The skin came off, obviously, and blood gushed out. Fortunately, there's no stiches required.
On the unfortunate side, I had to do his job. Making drinks and preparing food. Karen is only in charge of cashier and some simple drinks. I practically worked my ass off. First by finishing the coleslaw preparation (I threw away the "contaminated" onion, so no worries), made tons of drinks, prepared a couple of sandwiches, made tuna and roast chicken fillings etc etc.
Soon its gonna be 9pm. Yippppppeeeeee! I wanna go homeeeeee!

Embarassment.

My partner in crime (cousin sister) came back from Melbourne on Thursday. Yesterday, we had a BBQ at my house kononnye to 'welcome' her la. The usual gang (other cousins) were invited and we had a blast! Sadly though, it rained quite abit so we had to take out the big ass 'pasar malam' umbrella. No idea why it always rain when we decide to have a BBQ. It rained too when I had my 21st Birthday BBQ party. :/
You know what happens when relatives get together. We talk. We laugh. We joke. We basically talk nonsense and catch up with each others. One of my cousin brother is a father again! My cousin sister-in-law gave birth to another son, Joven Loo Zen Kit. Hehehehehe. Another adddition to the Loo Clan. How nice. I can imagine few years down the road, kids around the age of 5 and below running around and screaming their heads off, annoying the soul out of us "older generations". :p
My eldest brother was damn funny. Out of the sudden, he told everyone that he'll always remember Joven everytime he showers. All of us looked at him weirdly and thought it was one of his failed jokes. He looked at us and you know what he said? "My water heater's brand is Joven". There. No wonder the name was so familiar when my cousin told us.
One thing I hate about all these cousin gatherings is how they'll all laugh at you when you do or say something wrong. Rainy days = wet floor, right? I was moving about on my plastic stool and suddenly, I feel the stool legs begin to spread. Before I could get up, I fell. Ass down. Wham! @#%$%&. All my cousins roar in laughters almost instantly! Oh Tuhanku. Malunye!!!!!

Soon.
Next Sunday will be my last day in Departure Lounge. *Yippppppppeeeeeeee*
Sorry about that. Was pretty excited. Hahahaha! There's so much I need to catch up on! First thing first, shopping! I am so neglected of that, I tell you! Almost 4 months. The only thing I've shopped for in these 4 months are groceries! Can't wait to get my life back on track! :p
End of the year equals to friends coming back from overseas. Jun! I am so freaking excited!!!!! ;)

Nonsense!
I can't believe I was actually anticipated to watch this Taiwanese drama. Thank God I rented it. If I actually purchased the show, I think I'll kill myself.

Love Contract. The stupidest drama I've ever watched! Beginning was fine. Then it got draggy and super boring towards the middle. And when I finally lived through it, I realised I don't understand the ending at all. Checked out some forums and was told that there's 3 versions of the ending!
No.1: both lead died
No.2: both lead lived
No.3: all the cast died
What the *tooooooooooooot*!!
Wasted my money. Wasted my time.

Presents.
'Tis the season to spend money, falalalala lalalala......
Christmas is coming in another month. Spent quite abit last year buying presents for people (you know who you are!). Headache all over again. Funny thing is I don't celebrate Christmas. I just find it a nice excuse to go shopping and spend money. Hahahahaha! Oh, and not forgetting the Christmas gathering my cousins put together. It's nice spending the night with them talking about family histories, exchanging presents and laugh about how the present doesn't suit the receipient!
To a particular person who received a grey teddy bear from me last year, come on... gimme a hint on what you'll want this year! Otherwise I'll get you another to add to your collection! :p
Oh, for those who don't know yet, I am spending another Christmas in Hong Kong. Okay. I can hear those "What?! Again?!" coming. Flood my comments page and chatbox, people! I am expecting you guys!

New Menu.
The interview with LifeTV went okay. Was quite interesting actually. Presented our new menu to them. The review will be out in December and so is our new menu. :)

Presenting to you, our new menu!

Tuna Fusili in Capsicum Sauce

Beef Bolognese Spaghetti

Oriental Teriyaki Toga

Salsa Mexicana Toga
We have 2 new drinks as well. Launching it in conjuction of Christmas. They are called Red Rudolph and Jack Frost. :p
Away from business, here's something on leisure. My definition of leisure would be non other than chinese wayang. Hahahahahah! Been collecting TVB chinese wayang for my New Zealand thingy. While doing so, I switched to Taiwanese Idol Dramas. Kononnye can brush up on my Mandarin. Heh. Last week I finished Devil Beside You. Mei Yin Kong! Must watch this! Another 7 episodes and I'll finish Love Contract as well.
Replacing Lindsay Lohan's top spot in my playlist is 曖昧 (Ambiguous) by Rainie Yang, lead actress in Devil Beside You. This is also the main song in the drama. Even if you don't understand Mandarin, you should try listening to it too. It's really good.

Third Eye.
Ever since we got back from Taiwan, Charmaine became very 'manja' to her mom. We can't really carry her or play with her 'cos she'll be crying for her mom every single minute. We thought it was one stage of life where toddlers tend to stick with their mom but no. As Chinese, we came up with lots of assumptions like 'maybe she was frightened' or 'maybe she saw something' etc etc. So what her parents did was bring her to the temple and stuffs. I don't know if it helped or not because I haven't been seeing her since last Sunday.
So anyway, my cousin brother who was really good in those Buddhism and spiritual thingy came over to our house the other day. From what I heard from my other sister-in-law (Szun), my cousin told Charmaine's parents that Charmaine is born with a 'third eye', i.e "I can see dead people!!". And that's not that freaky yet. Wait till I tell you what happened in Taiwan.
We were in Tai Chung (another state) on the second day of our Taiwan trip. The hotel we stayed for a night was pretty rundown, with water marks at the corner of the walls and dim lights throughout the premises (except the lobby). I was supposed to sleep alone during the whole trip but obviously, I chickened out. I mean, my other cousin brother who went with us was telling us that he was afraid to even smoke outside the room because its too freaky!
Back to the story. I bunked with my cousin and his girlfriend that very night because the room they had was super huge! It was meant for four person anyway. The room was pretty rundown as well and I tell you, I will never forget the condition of the room and the bathroom for my entire life! The only source of light in the bathroom came from the mirror/sink place. Besides that, there's nothing else. When we take our showers, we have to leave the shower curtains open otherwise we won't be able to see clearly. Would love to capture some shots for you guys to see but I was afraid I might capture something else. Gulp.
Trying not to think so much, I watched tv (over 100 channels, ok!) and chatted with my cousin's girlfriend till we fell asleep. Thank God nothing happened throughout our trip. Know why I said that? Well, Charmaine's mom was an air stewardess and she heard lots of stories about Taiwan hotels from her colleagues. So what did she do? She told me everything. That was like few years back and unfortunately, I still remember it clearly.
So anyway, how does this relate back to the story about Charmaine? Well... on that particular night at the rundown hotel in Tai Chung, Charmaine woke up in the middle of the night, pointed to one corner of the hotel room and cried. Non-stop. What does this tell you?
She saw something. Something we couldn't.
Freaky or not?! When Szun told me, my goosebumps went into action! Same thing happened to my brother when I told him.
Charmaine's parents is asking my cousin brother to 'shut' the third eye. For good. We'll see how it goes. Update you guys on that.
By the way, don't be afraid to travel to Taiwan. Heheheheh. Rundown hotels aside, it is actually a nice place to go food-hunting. Heh. On our last extended-day in Taipei, we stayed in Holiday Inn. Though I've heard stories about it from my sister-in-law, I couldn't care less about it. Too tired already. :)

Life TV.
A writer for a Chinese entertainment magazine (LifeTV) came yesterday and asked if he can write a 3 page review for Departure Lounge. Hell yeah! Of course you can!
They are coming over on Sunday at 3pm. So whoever who wants to see yours truly being interviewed, do drop by. Hehehehe. We're taking this opportunity to launch our new menu (more food!!) and some seasonal drinks as well.
Sunday will be fun!

Title.
Hate to do it but I guess I have no other choice. Found out that there's another blog by the name of 'Ramblings'. To avoid confusions, I've decided to change it. Gotta thank Greg who was helping me out. Went through some ideas with him and we actually agreed on a theme but I changed my mind last minute. Nevertheless, thanks alot dude!
So here it is. '∀: life the other way 'round'. The A 'terbalik' represent the side of me that I hardly show or talk about in real life. If you can't see the 'A' I was talking about, then that's too bad. Maybe your browser doesn't support it. It works real good in Safari.
Oh, if you haven't notice, I've changed the layout too. Somehow I couldn't stand the previous 2 "TicTacToe' layouts. Sigh. Well, hope this will last!

The Girl From Ipoh.

Went for the play yesterday at Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC), Sentul. It somehow felt abit like IACT (my ex-college) gathering 'cos there were students and ex-students around. The reason? Half of the LiT Perfomers were from IACT. Ex-lecturer, admin staffs and ex and current students.
So what do I think about the play? Not very good as compared to Memories For Sale which was performed in 2004 at The Actor's Studio, Bangsar. I find this play abit boring, draggy and 'as if it was plucked out from a chic flick'. The whole story coud be better.
Bad storyline aside, I have to say that LiT Performers did a great job. Both in Memories For Sale and The Girl From Ipoh. :)

Teenage.
I was rummaging my cd collections for Christmas albums when I suddenly come across 2 cds by my early-teenage years favourite pop duo, M2M. Those were the days, I tell you!! They were like one of the best pop acts then until they decided to call it quits and go solo, hence Marion Raven's solo album, Here I Am.
Got to know about them from Jun, who typed the chorus of their first song (Don't Say You Love Me) in ICQ (as if she was singing!). Jun, my dear, ingat tak? I remember it vividly 'cos you were so annoying me then! :p
Time passes damn fast-la. Remember the time when we went to the showcase with Greg? I hardly even know him. Sekarang, I kacau him everyday on MSN. Hahahahaha. Best giler. If only we can turn back time, right? So nice.
By the way, Jun, do you remember me having this (below)?

Autographed cover
Off topic. For some reason there's 3 ostrich eggs on my dining table.

Anyone need boobies replacement? :p

Unwell.
Feeling slightly sick. Started coughing abit since yesterday night. I guess it was Charmaine and her mum's virus. Sigh.
As I promised, pictures from Taiwan!

Well, this rock behind me is supposed to resemble Queen Elizabeth...

With Jess and my uncle

Grilled puffer fish!

The town of Tanshui

With Pauline in our comfy bus

Sun Moon Lake

Taiwanese Sausage and Wild Boar Meat Sausage (right)

Eating tofu in 'Beancurd Street'

All of us in front of Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall

Chiang Kai Shek's bronze statue

With the guard of Martyr's Shrine

Changing of guards

The touch for wealth! Stupid bro behind me

With brothers, Pauline, cousin, Jess and uncle in front of Taipei's 6-star hotel

Raohe Street Night Market

At Ximen Ting

Hip-hop Charmaine

Our lunch. Taiwanese spicy steamboat

Dinner with cousin's Taiwanese friend, Bryan and Monica

Prawn meal. 9 dishes of them! I swear I am not gonna touch any prawns for the next couple of months!
That's all for now. Too many to post up! I'm back to work now and I can tell you that I so wanna die! Hate it when time passes so damn fast when you are enjoying. Minutes are like hours when you are suffering! God.
