The Hype For Nothing.

Zzzzzzzz
'Nuff said.

Okay. Maybe I was being too harsh. To be fair, I think director Chris Weitz did a good job. The cinematography was great, but I didn't like how it was screen-written. Some scenes were cut, changed and sequences were jumbled up. And the dialogues are SO corny!

Special effects were excellent though. I like how Jake got transformed mid-air. And I like Alice! Too bad there were too little screen time for her and the rest of the Cullens.

Will I watch it again? Yes, but not in the cinema because some scenes got under the censor's knife. And the subtitles are distracting. And my mind was elsewhere comparing the movie with the book.

Next up, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, due out in June 2010. This better be good as it's my favourite book from the saga.

Some Updates.

Well, I figured that I should update more often on the current on-goings in my life.

I'm still working on a catering quotation for a 300pax event at the moment. If you know me, you should know my mathematics ability. The costing calculation itself took me quite a few days hours, then I have to figure how to prep the food in the mini kitchen, and how to spread it out on a buffet line. As much as I hate doing it, I suppose this would be my first few steps towards improvement. I need to get rid of the procrastination though. Sigh.

Also, Cafe Departure Lounge launched a refreshed menu with additional breakfast options, specialty sandwiches, salads and pasta today. There are quite some changes to the menu and I would appreciate it if any of you drop by, try it, and give me some feedback.

There isn't a day at work that I am not thinking about the Taiwan trip in January. I've said it over and over but frankly and seriously, I just can't wait. The food trails, the parties, the hangovers, and most importantly, the catching up. Definitely the catching up :)

Tomorrow is gonna be exciting too as I'll be watching Twilight Saga: New Moon on its Malaysia premiere night at GSC. Too much spoilers have been appearing online so we had to watch it ASAP. I have read the book (twice - yes I had too much time, Jun) and it was my least favourite, but I am excited to find out how the movie adaptation turns out. Speaking about movies, the amount of times I've been into the cinema in the past 2 months is more than I usually would in the whole year! Or maybe even 2 years....

Well, this posting should cover the lack of updates.

I Feel Like Heading Down to Malacca.

It's bad when they incorporate food in dramas. For the past few days I was having this craving for Peranakan food, all thanks to the drama I've been watching.

Haven't been chasing dramas for quite sometime and when I saw the preview for Singapore-produced The Little Nyonya (couple of months ago on Astro AEC), I knew this was something I want to watch. Coincidently, mom had it on DVD but somehow my player was unable to load beyond episode 6.

Fast foward to last week when my mom finally bought a new set. Continuing from episode 6, I took 4 nights to finish the remaining 28 episodes. It was addictive but I reckon they could have ended it sooner because it got rather draggy towards the end. Nevertheless, it was a drama worth watching because it was kinda educational (Peranakan cultures) and very good acting from everyone involved.

Meiyinkong, you should watch this :)

Someone Should Import These.

i am keeping it in my room, chilled by the aircon!

The last time I bought 1/2 dozen of these home from HK, I ended up not having any of it because my BBQ guests stole thought these were the drinks provided for the party.

Parents just got back from HK/Macau and mom bought, dad lugged it home for me. These are the larger packs compared to what I bought the last time so I can imagine the effort dad took.

I am so gonna savour each and every pack. And every drop. :)~

Okuribito.

Wow.

I've never cried so much watching a movie.

Deserved the Academy Award it won for best foreign language film.

The soundtrack is awesome.

Watch it if you haven't.

Back To School.

I've got to admit. Ever since I started working in the cafe, I somehow became complacent with my own abilities. I don't know how much more I can achieve if I actually ventured out but the possibilities could be endless.

2 days ago, I was forced to have this conversation with some of my family members. I know they meant well and believed I could have something better. I didn't know what to say. I just didn't have the answer to it yet.

I accepted the criticisms directed to me because I know I did not contribute enough effort to make things better. I was being a burden and for that, I would want to change.

You know you've got to do something, anything, when someone dumps you a textbook-sized.. well, textbook. As boring as it seems, I promise I will try to refer to it and improve myself.

Wish me luck.

Excitement.

the place. the people. the party.

Obasan, you were very slow but you finally got it done. It's gonna be the party of a lifetime. Someone is getting drunk AND paying for our dinner, right? :D
