Completely random, Yohei asked if we want to go for a movie. After deciding on Pirates 2, I suggested that he and Eva go and purchase the tickets first. Off they went and back at around 7.45pm. "Movie's at 8.45pm", he said. Still an hour to go, we had dinner, fruits and dilly-dallied till 8.30pm before heading to the cinema.
Reached there just in time to buy some popcorn and drinks and entered the cinema slightly over 8.45pm. "You guys are late!" the ticket collecter said. Only late 5 minutes what...
We walked into the completely dark cinema and searched for 4 empty seats (seats here are not numbered... chiiiit). The seats we found are quite near to the screen but what the heck. Too dark to search for better ones. So there we were, watching (SPOILERS!) Will Turner, his father and that disgusting octopus in the scary looking ship. I was watching it and thinking about the possible scenes that we've probably missed out 5 minutes ago.
So many things happened and the next thing we knew, the movie ended. HUH?! We were just 1 hour into the movie and the credit rolled up. What the hell!! Almost immediately, I asked Yohei if we went into the wrong cinema. He took out the tickets and said we were in the right cinema. I grabbed the tickets from him and scanned it. 7.30pm. He bought the 7.30pm tickets instead!!
He and Eva said they requested for 8.45pm and is very certain about it. Chhiittt. They gave us the wrong tickets and we didn't realise it until the movie ended. Basically, we missed out the 1st hour of the movie and watched the end part instead. So pissed!!!
Yohei suggested that we talk to them and ask them for refund or exchange. Sorry-la, but Malaysian mentality, you think they will exchange/refund for you after you've watched the movie? I told Yohei that but everyone insisted to try.
The cinema people proved me wrong and they were so professional about the whole thing. We talked to a ticket collector and told him our situation. He beeped someone on his talkie and told us to meet this guy downstairs at the box office. There, we repeated the whole story and almost immediately, offered us 4 complimentary tickets without asking further questions. CUSTOMER SERVICE! This is something Malaysia gotta learn!!
We're gonna go again probably this Saturday to catch the beginning part of the movie...
