Again?

I've been tagged again, courtesy of someone I would love to hate. Kalau bored, pergi training-la!

1. Describe the perfect man in your own words.
I would say tall, dark and handsome but someone is gonna say I copied her. So for starters, my kind of perfect man must have a great sense of humour, shares the same passion (cooking and eating!), and enjoys quiet times chilling out at places with great music. I am sucker for romantic stuffs, so I guess a little surprises and romantic dates once in a while makes him a perfect man!
2. Describe your treasured moment.

I guess it would be the bungee jump I did in New Zealand. I was afraid of heights and a little climb on the folding ladder makes my legs wobble so the jump is a breakthrough. Kinda overcome my fear for heights a little and it makes me proud to tell people that!
3. Childhood hero or heroin

I can't even remember my teenage hero/in. Gosh, childhood. Probably Tom and Jerry. I loved it soooooooooo much. Last 2 years I was into the animated Mr. Bean. Now, it's definitely the characters of BabyBlues and TinTin!
4. Childhood dreams

To graduated with something, which I finally achieved 2 months ago. My other childhood dream is to be a chef, which I hope to achieve soon.
5. Ideal friend or partner

He/she should understand that I hardly talk about myself but I am more than happy to lend an ear and/or a shoulder to cry on. He/she should not be afraid to call me in the middle of the goddamn night to talk and knows I am always there whenever the need arises, even if it's out of my own way to do so. A person whom I can enjoy talking to, be totally comfortable with and unafraid to show my true side.
6. Ideal evening

Dimly lit, nice soft music, nicely decorated restaurant with good food and wine. Ahhh, bliss.
7. Nobody knows that I am…

a superhero who can cook few dishes for 8 person in 1+ hour without any help.
8. My biggest regret

That I didn't realise that Rescoe, my first pet dog was suffering in pain for a few hours before he passed.
9. My advice to mum

Let's go Canada in September!
10. My advice to dad

Don't pamper your dogs too much. (Seems like we have some pampering problems with our dads, Jun!)
11. My advice to friends

Don't get married so soon. No money to give angpau!
12. My biggest fear
Plane crash. I am getting more and more paranoid about taking flights. Sigh. The things age does to people...
13. My biggest lie

Told my mom that I was out at a friend's place but in actual fact, I was in KL clubbing. Heh. Peace.
14. What I don't like about people/friends

Contradictions
15. Superstitions

I believe that sometimes an amulet does help to ease the fear. I am so gonna get one for Mount Kinabalu!
16. People like me because…

I can cook good food. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian and western cuisines. You name it.

I know you'll be bored, Eric. So here's a tag for you!

o_O!!

It's really nice getting some updates on our high school mates. It's been what? 5 years since graduated from high school. Felt like it was just yesterday but noooooo. Some of them are actually married or engaged to be married!

Here's the shocker of the day:

Talent?

Charmaine Loo, the next culinary talent?

I remember myself being attracted to cooking at a very young age. Cooking has since became something I really enjoy doing and hopefully, pursue as a career (maybe I should really take up the culinary arts course, eh?).

I really miss cooking for my housemates. I know sometimes my food sucks but I am glad that they tried not to show it and praised the food instead. What a great bunch of people!

New menu.

We have 3 days left until the launch of departure lounge's highly anticipated new food menu. Still got quite abit to prepare as far as POS materials are concerned. Been working on the marketing side of stuffs and am glad that I could make use of what I've studied, albeit minimally.

Just a quick run though, we're gonna have a triple-decker sandwich, some English muffins, 2 more varieties of salads, a couple more of the tortilla-wrapped sandwiches and a 3-eggs omelette.

No photos to post here as we are not gonna put them on our menu anyway. So if you wanna know how its like, come anytime after June 1st!

Lanun-Lanun Caribbean.

That is the exact translated title in Malay, by the way. Good movie but I find it a little draggy. Preferred Pirates 2 because it was more humourous!

I think our Censorship Board deserves a credit for not censoring any scenes! Well, not like they have anything to censor but knowing our Censorship Board, they would censor the slightest intimacy (i.e kissing) between the characters. If you have been in to a Malaysian cinema, you'll know exactly what I mean.

Apparently there are some additional scenes after the final credits. I've missed them so if any of you know what its all about, please let me know. Thanks ;)

11+1

If any of you have been following my blog since it was established, you would have probably noticed that there was previously a '9+1' and a '10+1' title. Same story, different person.

Let's welcome Charmaine's baby brother, Caeden/Caedon/Caedan (Sorry la, still unsure which is the correct spelling!) who was born today at 8-ish in the morning!

My family is expanding so fast, it's so scary! Definitely need to get a larger dining table to accommodate another baby highchair!!

Handsome 'lil boy :)

Eh?

When everything in your life has become a routine, there's just nothing worth blogging anymore. Nothing is new anyway. Just the same old shit over and over again.

I haven't gone into the cinema since......... I can't even remember. I'm glad that I'll be watching Pirates 3 tomorrow evening with Eric! Can't believe that 1 year had gone by since Pirates 2. I can still vividly remember what happened when I went for Pirates 2 with my housemates back in New Zealand. So the memalukan!

In 2 months time, I'll be hiking Mount Kinabalu. Been training albeit lazily. For the first time yesterday, I trained with Nik. More to come definitely. Jun, we are waiting for you!

Almost.

A little fire accident happened yesterday at the cafe's kitchen. The gas hose slipped from the stove when one of my staff was making pancakes and set the stove area on fire. She stepped back immediately and was clearly in shock while I was trying to extinguish the fire by pouring water. Because there was still gas coming out from the gas tank, the fire could not be extinguished by water. And I soon realise that if I don't unplug the hose from the tank, we will both die if the tank blows up!! Thats when I figured that I don't know how to close the gas valve. :/

Thank god for Sam, who managed to close the valve and extinguish the fire with the fire extinguisher. Hero moment!

^ Sam, after battling with the fire

Not much damage done. The fire just toasted the water boiler and darkened the tiles around the stove. And of course, everyone is safe and sound. The 2 aunties sitting outside didn't have any clue that we were battling fire in the kitchen! They were complaining that their coffee were cold because of the aircond. I guess I should have told them that if they wanted their coffee hot, they should come into the kitchen!

^ Toasted water boiler, darkened tiles and flooded stove area. That's the half cooked pancake on the pan.

^ The aftermath, a little mess in the sink.

Clean up wasn't that hard. Just a little washing up and getting rid of the water.

^ Now, who said there was fire?

Equal.

A production team from Malaysian Women's Weekly magazine came yesterday to shoot some photos for Equal (the artificial sweetener) press ads. The talent and the makeup artist were at the cafe as early as 7.45am and the entire shooting ended around 1pm!

I think all those lightings and stuffs attracted the customers. Me and my team worked our asses off because of the sudden influx of customers! Talk about Malaysian kepoh-ness!!

Meet...

Tobey, a 3 months old Miniature Pinscher. He was the newbie in our household

until...

Paco comes into the picture few days later!! This is Paco, a 3 months old Pug.

I suppose my dad was suffering from 'I need new pups syndrome'. This is the only reason I could use to explain why he bought 2 new pups just few days apart!

...

If writers get writer's block, I am definitely getting a blogger's block.

Maybe I need something exciting in my life. Something in a form of human. Men, to be exact.

Oh Jun, we are both sad sad souls. Maybe you are right. I should speak to more random men and ask them something else besides "would you like cream on top?" :)

Melt.

Kuala Lumpur weather - 30 degree Celsius, feels like 35 degree Celsius. Seriously, it felt more like 40 degree Celsius, considering that my aircon and fan is blowing at full and maximum speed but I am still sweating! Gosh, when will this stupid weather gonna pass and give us some rain?

If I have my way, I will wear shorts to work!

Darn.

As much as I love my current mobile phone, I have to admit that it is already giving me problems. It hangs sometimes, claims that I have inserted an inactive SIM card and puts me on 'Emergency Calls Only'. It gets pretty annoying and frustrating because I have to reboot it when the aforementioned problems occur.

Since my mobile is relatively new and in good condition, I might trade it in for an okay price and buy a new one. I am still loyal to Sony Ericsson despite the problem it caused (like how the stupid joystick always die on me!). Previous experiences with the joystick reminded me not to get SE phones with the rotating joystick as the main navigation key. The ironic thing is the joystick on my current mobile is not giving me any problems. It is the phone itself!

Spidey 3 promo is currently on. Maybe I could get K800i with a reasonable price!

High and Low.

High and Low - Greg Laswell
I'm going to see some friends
From out of state
The very trip that you were supposed
To take a while ago
But it fell through
Like all of you
Like all of you

Thought I'd make the drive but
A free plane ride is in the air
And just like that my fear of it disappeared
Like all of you
Like all of you

And I look high and low for yesterday
High and low for you and I
High and low

Once I can see straight I might
Move somewhere cold
Seattle or the bay area
To see your ghost
What's left of you
What's left of you

And I look high and low for yesterday
High and low for you and I
High and low

Found a letter from a man I might have met, Addressed to you
And I'll steal the words he ended with:
I miss you
And I miss you
And I do

High and low for yesterday
High and low for you and I
High and low

Guys who can play the piano is extremely charming, don't you think?
