Ahhhhh

Wellington, the city of wind indeed! Arrived few hours earlier, checked in and had the best sandwich (so far) for dinner. I'm glad that the hotel has wireless Internet ($6/hr!) as I am currently 'hotel-alone'.

Hotel is nice, location and room wise. After a combined 10 and 1/2 hour flight, the bed is the best thing ever for now!

Bell

One of the best bits of my Tokyo trip with Yi Fan back in 2007 was having Behru (Bell) in the house. He was just doing things he usually does and then comes Yi Fan, who disrupted his lifestyle and he was subsequently made to stay away from Yohei's living room. I remember saving her from Behru. I remember trying to make Behru understand English instead of Japanese. I remember trying not to step on him when I go to the washroom in the middle of the night. I remember seeing him lying in front of the heater trying to keep warm and looking oh-so-adorable!

Now all is left are memories as Behru is gone, succumbed to the illness he had for quite some time. I was told of the bad news just a while ago. Yohei, I am sorry for your lost. Be strong! We all miss Behru :(

Race Against TIme!

I am currently down with the common cold - runny nose and cough. Usually, I wouldn't give a damn about it as I know it will eventually heal anyway. But you know this thing with the H1N1 paranoia...

I went to the doctor just now to check on my condition and to request for a flu vaccination. As expected, he prefers that I cancel my trip to the flu capital of the world as it is pretty serious down under. Since I declined, he asked me to come back when I feel better to get the flu jab and wear face mask when I am in the plane.

I have exactly 7 days to feel better! Now where is that fruits basket?

Many of you probably received my text requesting for cameo roles in exchange for free drinks (oh, I didn't mention that?). None turned up as it was a working day :/

Mom and sis in law came with couple of friends. It turns out that cameos were not really needed as it was surprisingly busy during lunch hour. Kehpoh Hungry working peeps stormed our outlet like nobody's business and they kept coming! They were really nice though, having agreed to act as extras, played cards, and cooperated when filming was in progress.

All 3 of us were filmed doing something. Whether they will edit it out or not is another story. Boss was the chef, I was the Barista and Karen was the cashier. Can't wait to see how it turns out! Mark your calendars! Xandria's Weekend Discovery, 30th July 2009, NTV7, 7.30pm.

Close Call!

What a journey, I must say!

Unfortunately, I caught the fever while on the flight home from Tokyo. I don't know how as I was perfectly alright few hours prior. All in all, I had 5 hours plus and a tablet of Tamiflu to make me feel better before landing and crossing that thermal scanner. Upon landing, my body was still feeling hot and I was beginning to get worried about being quarantined! Bloated myself with cold water and braced for the nightmare - although there is nothing I can do if they decide to quarantine me anyway.

I first crossed the scanner with a group of people but what luck! the officer held me back and I was to be rescanned. I thought I was gonna faint there and then but after standing still for the rescan, I was CLEARED. You have no idea how relieved I was about that decision. The moment I pass the custom clearance and reach the baggage reclaim area, the fever came back immediately.

Now that's what I call a close call. Somebody up there likes me! Thank YOU!

FYI, I went to the doctor and it's not the feared A(H1N1).
