Nervous.

After all those stupid costings and material requisitions, tomorrow will be the day! My first ever catering event for 30pax at a nearby office. Murphy's Law, go away!

But before that I'll have to drive to Balakong (of all places!) to collect water dispensers. This is when I hunt high and low for a GPS navigator. Hope the one on mom's car works :\

Next Up.

Taoyuan Int. Airport, Taiwan; 11 January 2010

Wow. I can't believe that it has already been a week since I got back from Taiwan! How ridiculously fast. In a month's time, it'll be Chinese New Year once again, where it's the best time of the year when I get 1 week off from work and annual family holiday!

The initial plan was to go to USA + Canada but I wouldn't be able to go because the trip will take at least 2 weeks. Then the bomb scare on a US flight complicated matters - my dad does not want to spend extra few hours in the airport going through security checks! Fair enough, because I would dread going through the hassle. Thanks to that, 9 of us will be flying to Osaka, Japan on the 2nd day of CNY! No Tokyo this time, though I would love to visit Obasan.

Speaking of Obasan, hey guess what I found while trying to compile pictures for Eva! We You looked so different!

Eat, Drink and Be Merry!

Came across this comic strip while I was in the loo and I cannot believe how relevant it was to a hilarious conversation we had in Taichung about chickens!

Sorry, Yohei. I just can't help it!

Needless to say, I had a blast in Taiwan. Started the trip at Taichung with a delicious spicy steamboat for dinner and everything else just falls into place after that. Gosh, how I missed the drinking game! We got so carried away that we had to be silenced by neighbour(s)!

It was very thoughtful of Eva and hubby, Benson, for hosting us at their place. Felt quite paiseh because they offered their room and bed for us to sleep in while they were sleeping on the floor next door! Eva and Benson, thank you so much and sorry for the trouble :\

As promised, Yohei bought a box of shochu chocolates for me from Japan. It was pricey ($$$ for 8pcs) and priceless (oh the taste!). We were so excited to try it that I totally forgotten to snap a photo of it before we attacked! These has definitely increased my expectations towards chocolates filled with alcohol. So orgasmic!

And then there were the perfect combination of alcohol and caffeine. Went to Gabee Cafe in Taipei to try out Taiwan Barista Champion's coffee. Besides the traditional caffe latte, we tried out the award winning shot (because my colleague was bugging me and made it clear that he WANTS me to try it). I must say, I really liked this creation. Tangy lime sweetened with palm sugar, chewed and swallowed before downing the espresso grappa shot. The aftertaste was so so good!

Dodgy website but not a dodgy club, we went to Room18 in Taipei after some pre-drinking in the apartment. Funnily, all of us headed to the washroom upon arrival and when we were done, all the lights in the club were on and there was a police raid. The ID checks took about 1 hours and the moment the police left, we wasted no time to get started. 3 years since Yohei, YiFan and I went out clubbing together. The last time, Yohei someone got pissed drunk but this time we were more mature. Hahaha. You guys were awesome! MOS in March?

Previously.

I figured that I should walk down memory lane since I still have about 2 and a half hours till Sherlock Holmes movie.

It's already a decade since the new millennium. Previous years seems like it was just yesterday. Does it make sense that once you became an adult, time somehow come and go much faster? What happened to those days when everyday seemed everlasting and there's so much you could do?

A handful of friends around me has already started a family, or heading to that direction. The same friends that I've grown up with and of course, it's a blessing that we still remain so and to see them found their happiness. Minggy, if you are reading this, well, I'm sorry that I haven't been catching up with you and too see your pregger look! Looking forward to see your gorgeous baby. Wow, can't believe we've been friends close to 20 years!

Had a thought on what I did on my previous new year countdown. Can't remember what happened in 2006 but 07/08 and 08/09 was still fresh in my mind!

07/08: I mean no disrespect, but it looked as if I had white poo on top of my head!

08/09: at my favourite country, HK, until Japan came along

Too bad I didn't take any photos for 09/10 session. So to remind myself, I had dinner with Edmond and Pauline at Fong Lye Sri Hartamas then got dropped off at Solaris Mont Kiara's not-so-street-party street party, with Yuet treating me and Yi Fan a 1pint Hoegaarden each, paid RM30 for Boston entry fee for 1 bottle of Tiger beer (night-time robbery!!), and cumi-cumi goreng and cucumber passionfruit mojito at Ole-Ole Bali before fireworks and countdown. Nothing extraordinary but very homely ;)

01/01/10

Ah, the customary New Year greeting. Happy New Year, everyone!

I've given up on new year's resolution because I never manage to get it done or even remember what I resolute for! So, I'm just gonna take each day and each challenges as it comes and face it head first :)
