Today is supposed to be a happy day for me, as I finally have one day break out of work.
Unfortunately, something decided to happen. Something so big that it even made my dad cry.
Rescoe (Ah Go), our dog for 12 years had passed away.
Yes. He's gone. He left us an hour ago in my arms. We got to the vet too late. In a couple of days, we'll know what causes it. Poison or heart attack. We'll see.
At this moment, I felt as if the whole world had crashed. They say you'll never know how much you love someone until you lose them. Now I know.
I miss you, Ah Go.

Awwwww.
Minggy Liu, this post is for you.

If this is not considered cute, there's definitely something wrong with you.
Declan Loo, my 2nd brother's son. Character is exactly like him. Stony and slow in giving espression. :p
He likes to frown. He may be smiling. Then slowly... slowly... he'll frown. Then Bwwwaaaaahhh!!!!! (-_-")

New Maid.
Our new maid is here. Mom must be the happiest person at home as she do not have to wake up freaking early to clean the house again. :)
Our new maid is called Sumati. What's with Indonesian maids and their names? Our previous maid was Tini. My oldest bro's is Yati and my 2nd bro's is Yatini. Now, Sumati. I told my mom to call her either Suma or Su. Never ever Mati...
Moo Moo Mei, congrats on your job at Catcha! So I heard Catcha got lotsa freebies......................

Underdogs.
Some friends turned up at the shop today. Minggy and Chiams decided to come over 'cos they had no where else to go and Eric kept his promise to come over for coffee at least once. Oh, Cyndi came over yesterday after work and we went out for dinner 'cos I was in desperate need for a life!
We ordered more French pastries and it came this morning. There's this Leek and Chicken Ham Quiche we ordered. I didn't know beforehand what is a quiche so I assumed most Malaysians have no idea as well. Expected it to sell quite slowly manatau, that's our best seller for today. Sold 6 pieces out of 8!
We did quite well today. Exceeded our usual sales. :)

Wifi.
Finally, there's entertainment in the cafe! We got the wifi fixed and I brought in my laptop today. Time seemed to past pretty fast when you have something to do.
Currently, the cafe is empty. Tea break but no one comes in. :(
We brought in French pastries yesterday. It's selling well. Better than the cakes we ordered. :/ Seemes like the word 'French' does have some effect to the Malaysian market! "Not local. Must be nice." :p
Business is getting slightly better as compared to the other days. We sent out leaflets last week. Some of you staying in TTDI, BU, Tropicana and Damansara Indah might come across a sheet of leaflet inserted into The Star or Sin Chew. If you've seen it but have no idea what it is, lemme tell you. It is my cafe and we're doing a 'free pastry with every beverage' promotion. :)

Overrated.

I'm finally done with this book. Took a couple of days to read in the cafe. No customers to attend to so might as well make use of the time by reading this. :)
It's a good book, but I find the reviews about it abit overrated. In the beginning of the story, it seemed interesting and it makes you wanna keep reading. At times, it became rather draggy. Towards the end, it became quite predictable (at least to me). I learned quite alot of stuffs regarding Christianity from this book. Don't know how true or how false it is though. Well, I am reading this book from a free-thinker's point of view afterall.
Our maid left for Indonesia today and our new maid is only coming in about 2 weeks time. Mom had to start doing all the housework herself until the new maid comes. It's a huge house to clean up, I tell you!
Our lifestyle would definitely change. We're so used to letting the maid do everything. Now that she's gone, there will definitely be a havoc. At least for the upcoming few weeks. :/

Heaven.
Look at the time!!
I am home early. Had to go to TMPoint to settle some stuffs for the shop. Took this opportunity to leave early since the part time is there for his shift already. Was supposed to head to One Utama to get some cushions as well but the blardy thing at TM took me almost 2 hours. Stupid *toot*. Gonna have to do it tonight. In the meantime, I need my beauty sleep and I will do it in a short while.
Eric met with an accident on Wednesday and I just found out a couple of hours ago from Cyndi. Called him. He's ok. Still alive, that's what he said to me. Need 6 (yes, s-i-x) stitches for his injuries though. Well, buddy. Get well soon. :)
Now, I'm really going to sleep. Goodnight!

Rollin'
Oh yeah, baby!
Today's business is much much better as compared to the previous days. Though not much but there's improvement. Yay!
Cyndi Chinnnnnnnn! Thanks for coming over just now. Really appreciated it. I could have gone mad if you didn't drop by. Oh, my brother so lansee now 'cos his sandwiches are all sold out. Have to hear him brag. :/
And he tried to kill me with the common seal thingy 'cos I told him I wanna take leave.

Shocker.
You know, I have never worked so HARD in my entire life. We've been open for 2 days already. I won't say business is good. We managed to get some walk-in customers but most of our sales for this 2 days are from our relatives and friends. We can't make them come everyday :/
My day begins every morning at 5.30am (yes, I have to wake up that early!). Leave the house at around 6 and start doing necessary cleaning once I reach the shop. Dilly dally abit then it's 7.30am. Open shop and wait.
More waiting...
We get very excited when customers walk into the shop. Finally got something to do! Seeing the shop empty is very depressing, you know!
We close at 7.30pm and proceed to cleaning. By the time we finish and get home, it would be around 8.30pm. Home sweet home.
Tomorrow is a new day. Hopefully it's better.

903.
I was listening to the live stream of 903 Commercial Radio, Hong Kong. The current program features a pair of famous Hong Kong DJ. Though I know them through some Hong Kong movie, I haven't exactly listen to their program before. Since today is a super boring day, I decided to give it a try.
Well, I am still listening to it. The things they say are hilarious! There was one segment, where the DJ is supposed to pair the secret admirer with the admired. So many funny things happened and you can really hear the DJ's crazy laughters and stomping of foot. They even played the traditional Chinese wedding tunes when the admired managed to correctly identify the admirer!
Ok, back to the program. The closest I can get to Hong Kong until my next trip. :p

Stink.
I heard the thunder! I heard the thunder! Please rain! Please rain!
You know what's freaky? I was listening to 98.8FM in the car just now and the DJ instructed every listener to shout 'rain, rain, rain', hoping that it would actually rain. Just as I got off the car, I hear the thunder. It's still thundering now. I really hope it's not a false alarm. We need all the rain we have!
You know, every step I take, I felt as if I'm walking nearer to Genting Highlands. The only difference is in Genting, we get fog and cold air meanwhile we get haze and smelly air in KL. The visibility level is so low and my house stink. I can't breathe without smelling burned... stuffs.
Let's all thank Sumatra for that. :/

Opening.

Yes, folks. Departure Lounge is finally opening. Gotta do some publicity here. :)
We're gonna be open for business this coming Monday, 15th August 2005. The reason why we're opening and closing so early is because our current target are the working folks around us. And also, since there are daily traffic jams in front of our shop, there would be some chances that they would drop by and buy some coffee and pastry from us.
We should be expecting our first customer at 7.30am. Right, Eric? Hehehehehe...

Shit.
Apple is currently doing the 'iBook G4 and PowerBook G4 Battery Exchange Program' because of some problems in the selected batteries. Overheating or something.
Unfortunately, I'm one of them.
I'm gettting a new battery shipped over from US and is required to return my current battery to them with a prepaid shipping label. Pheeww. Now, this is the kind of after sales service everyone likes!

Mouse Redefined.

I would love to.
I wish.
See how cool Mac stuffs are? You would buy it 'cos of how it looks, you know.
Anyway, it's merely a thought. My current mouse is still working perfectly fine. :) Plus, judging from the specs of this Mighty Mouse, it would definitely a bomb!
And I don't have Tiger OS. :/

Stupid.
I somehow have this feeling that the IT guy gave me a wrong external hard disk. It's supposed to be a plug-and-play device but my laptop isn't detecting it. An installation disc was bundled with the casing but the problem is I have a slot-in drive and the disc is a mini CD. Don't know if I can use it. Scared it goes in and couldn't come out! Anyway, it is a 2.5" Samsung hard disk with a ciplak USB casing (which cost me RM30!). The HDD did run when I touched it but no detection whatsoever. Someone, enlighten me!
Since we're on this topic about computers, I would like to voice my dissatisfaction towards this year's PIKOM PC Fair, which was held in the newly opened Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The whole organization of the event is so blardy troublesome and messy and not-so-spacious! The entrance is on level 3, so everyone took the stairs, elevators, escalators blablabla to get to the hall. Everyone literally crammed into the hall just to head to the exit, go 2 floors down to another hall. Everyone crammed to get into the other hall again. The hall is long and narrow so everyone was so close to each other that they were smelling each others sweat! It sucks, man. I got trapped in a 'human traffic jam' a couple of times and could barely breath!
Another thing, it is so not organized! In PWTC, the computer booths are mostly on one level and accessories are on the other. Today's, it's all jumbled up! So hard to find for things I want! Hate the way they place the booths. Ptuuuit!
If they are having another fair in the same convention centre again, I'll think twice. Seriously.

Ugh.
I could have published this post eons ago. I was editing pictures when my boss decided to come to my room and demanded for artworks. Started from scratch and I just finished. The time now is 2.25am. The time on this post is much earlier 'cos I opened this page long before he came in and interrupted. Now, lemme continue what I was doing.
Visited Putrajaya (?!) today with Jun and Aizuddin. Now I'm proud to say that I've been to Putrajaya and Cyberjaya! :p

Finally!

I have never gone through so many obstacles just to finish one set of TVB series! I could have finish the 20 episodes series in just 2 or 3 days but it took me 1 month. Nevermind the fact that I went to Hong Kong.
Obstacle Number 1, disc 1 skipped towards the ending. Had to stop until my "supplier" change the disc for me.
Obstacle Number 2, bro misunderstood and took the whole set home with him. I haven't even finish watching!
Obstacle Number 3, disc 9 was mistakenly burned. Instead of the show I was watching, it was some other show. Had to drive all the way to Subang to get it changed.
Obstacle Number 4, the VCD machine in my room is pretty sensitive so I had to migrate to the TV room downstairs.
Gosh. Imagine if I have 2 sets to watch...
Speaking of the 'chinese wayang' I was watching, it's called A Gentle Crackdown. After all the hassle I had to go through, thank God the show was worth it. It's a costume comedy starring Moses Chan and Niki Chow. One word, hilarious. I was watching it alone and laughing non-stop. If any of you guys out there want to rent a series, rent this!

Tagboard.
It's been down for a couple of days already. It's darn annoying! The page keeps loading and I don't get to see my entire blog, including my visitors counter!!
I wanted to change to Doodle Board and forgo all the messages I have in TagBoard. BUT, I got this message once I clicked onto the main page of doodle board, 'We regret to inform our users that DoodleBoard will close as from 28th Aug, 2005. Thanks to all our members!'
Great. Just great.

Coolness!

Greg told me that the main reception of Dewan Filharmonic in KLCC have a distinct smell. A smell which reminds him of Hong Kong. How cool is that? Although I couldn't exactly figure out what smell he's talking about, I think I get the picture. Hong Kong does have a distinct smell. Well, to me it does. One particular scent that I recognise when I was in Hong Kong was food. :p
We got into this topic when I told him I might go over to Hong Kong again during Hari Raya with my family and relatives. Planning to drop by for 2 days after touring Taiwan. We're supposed to fly home straight from Taiwan but cousins wanna go Hong Kong as well because they haven't been there for at least 8 years. Well, not like I'm complaining.
Don't ask me why I'm still not bored with Hong Kong. I've been there for more than 20 times and I still wanna go. I can't explain this feeling. Maybe I have a Hongkie side of me. Hahahahah. Who knows? I could be a Hongkie in my past life!
Szun (my 2nd sis-in-law) is flying off to Hong Kong in less than 10 hours. Wish I could follow her but I just got back! There are still things I wanted to buy. Couldn't get it when I was there last 2 weeks. Guess I'll just have to wait until our Hari Raya trip. *fingers-crossed*
