52447.

Say hello to KDU part-time culinary student, ID: 52447

I've finally stop procrastinating and went ahead with the enrollment. Classes Orientation starts on the 11 of August but I have no idea how my class schedules look like yet. Considering that I am only taking 2 papers per semester, I guess I'll be quite free.

Can't wait to get started! Student once again. Seems like I will be getting some student discounts! Wooooo.

Super Bargain!

That's my mom with 16 (!) Tefal pans.

It was a super bargain at Tefal's warehouse sales. On average, each pan cost us only RM18.75. That 20cm pan my mom is holding would probably cost RM60+ at shopping malls!

Now lets see if Tefal is really good at what it claims to be...

Disclaimer!

TVB audiences beware! Hongkongers crowned their latest Miss HK just last weekend. As chinese-wayang watchers, you know what that means. Soon enough, you'll see her acting beside your favourite stars and rapidly becoming topic of discussions in forums among netizens because of her horrendous acting skills. Not one series from TVB is free from pageant contestants. Just name me any recent ones and I can tell you who won/was in Miss HK or Miss Chinese International pageants.

I've never watched any of her previous stuffs but from what I read, former Miss HK Kate Tsui has improved alot. I do recall watching some previews of her older series and seriously, her acting sucked. Also, it seems like the producers love to make her look ugly. Her hair was either cut too short (for a police cadet role), or styled too old fashioned (period dramas). Many said that her image in Speech of Silence is her nicest look so far. I agree! I wouldn't be interested in this series if she didn't win the prestigious Hong Kong Film Awards for her role in a movie. I mean, the award means that her acting improved, right?

Speaking about it, Speech of Silence is nothing to shout about. Enjoyable but it's a chick flick, predictable and have a rushed ending. The theme was interesting but they should develop it more. Frankly, I did enjoy watching Kate in this series. I suppose I'd too, as quoted, "prefer watching Kate Tsui over Mandy Cho any day!!". Now that I've seen her best, maybe I should watch Price of Greed on WLT so that I know how bad she was!

"It's a dangerous place, New Zealand"

A boring day at work attributed to this post about my current read, Polly Evan's Kiwis Might Fly. This book is not solely about her adventure in NZ. The good thing is she included histories and other details in it too, making it informative and funny just like her other book about her journey in China.

I admit the reason I purchased this book (at a staggering RM59/310pages!) was the fact that its about New Zealand. Being able to read location names in Maori-ish language (for example, Whakatane - fha-ka-ta-ne, not wah-ka-ta-ne) and having a mental map about NZ made reading easier. I can so imagine the long, straight, boring roads as she described it. And not forgetting the pitch dark country roads, with no street lights except 'cat's eye', if you're lucky.

A point to note. Since when Coronation Street became NZ's longest-running soap drama? I always thought it was lame Shortland Street....

Suckered.

The past 4 days has been pretty exhausting as I got myself involved in 2 jobs - my day job at the cafe and my part time job at night as an usher for a musical. When they were hiring 1 month ago, the job description seems somewhat interesting. It was far from that. It was tiring and at times, embarrassing (for some particular reasons)! Plus, the food they provide sucks.

However, through this job I've improved my customer relationship skills. Now I can safely say that I could handle unreasonable customers' AND audiences' request. And at least I know I can manage 2 jobs at once. Better late than never.

Bangkok.

Just 1 day into my Bangkok trip, I was down with sorethroat. It sucks considering that I was planning to have tomyam and all that spicy stuffs. Anyhow, I stuck to my principle: eat, sick. don't eat, still sick. so eat and screw it.

So much for Thai food galore though. I ended up having only 1 meal of it, and few meals of Japanese food!

I heart sushi

This shopping mall have these giant food scattered around but I find this the cutest.

Probably one of the most photogenic Ronald McDonald

Mister Donut - my favourite donut shop! When are you gonna come to Malaysia?!!!

Honk honk. Infamous Bangkok traffic jam. Not too bad actually. Somewhat like KL during the peak hours.

Affordable seafood / Thai food from Bangkok Chinatown

And these are what we ordered... The oyster cake (or-chein) is so freaking yummy!

Shopping for bargains from Chatuchak weekend market

I hope this elephant is small enough for you...

Sawasdee-kaaaaa

In about an hour or so, I'll be leaving for LCCT to catch my flight to Bangkok. I've heard alot about shopping and buying cheap stuffs from there so I am definitely looking forward to it! Maybe I should get that authentic Thai massage too..

4 days of Thai food would possibly burn a hole in my stomach pocket but where else can you get the real tom yam? Oh, I can't wait.

Will be back with lotsa photos for sure ;)
