Philosophy.

This topic is created to bring horror and torture to those 'not-so-philosopical-people' like me. The chapters are short but I need to read at least twice to understand what it is all about.

Philosophy is NOT my kinda stuffs!

And to hell with the assignment.

Talented.

See how talented Apartment 13D people are? Japanese bassist trying his fingers on the Chinese 'pipa'. I find this picture really cute!

The 'pipa' belongs to Yi Fan, who plays for a Chinese orchestra back home in Malaysia. Damn cool right? She's joining a competition back home at the end of the year so she brought her 'pipa' along to practice. You should see her fingers go! So fast!

Meanwhile, we're having occasional band practice for our performance this coming Saturday. Nervous!! Unfortunately, I had to put on the silencers for the drumset we rented. It sounded so weird that I just don't have the mood to play with it! Staying in a student apartments and with the manager's apartment just above ours, having a drumset is really not that fun. No loud noises! :(

Pride and Prejudice.

Bought this 3 in 1 DVD set here. Besides Pride and Prejudice, there's also The Phantom of the Opera and Shakespeare in Love. Somehow it felt like purchasing those 3 in 1 pirated DVDs we have back home.... except that this come in 3 different DVDs, not like the ones back home.

Pride and Prejudice is about 2 hours long of wonderful and beautiful cinematography. I would suggest you watch it with the subtitle on because of those formal British English. And also to refer when you have absolutely NO IDEA what they are talking about. Especially when they are arguing. They can speak so fast and so aggressive and I (I admit) couldn't catch a single word they are saying!

Needless to say, Kiera Knightley was fabulous. One of my favourite actress. :D Maybe I should watch Bend It Like Beckham. Hah. It sounded so lame back then. I mean, what a title! But I heard it wasn't so bad. Hmmmm...

I like Shakespeare in Love, and now Pride and Prejudice. Hopefully I'll like Phantom of the Opera too! Then having this DVD is totally worth it!

Eh?

Does all Korean guys know how to play the piano? I've got 2 Korean guy housemates and both of them know how to play the piano. And sing cheesy love songs.

See how much fun it is over here in New Zealand? We actually rented the keyboard. And there's also a drum set and a bass guitar too. We're performing for Yohei's girlfriend birthday/farewell party so we gotta get all the equipments we need.

Never in my life that I would have thought that studying abroad can be so fun! "Forming" a band, cooking dinner together, bully Yen Ling and other girl housemates, get free Dunkin' Donuts at least twice a week, party at least once a week, watching chinese wayang and movies together and so on and so forth. Too many things too mention here. Hehehe.

We play hard but we also study harder! Not the other way around ya. Weekdays are when everyone stay in their respectives room and do assignments. Come weekend and its when we have fun!

Blegh!

Did anyone watch the women's squash game on Commonwealth yesterday? Nicol David versus some Kiwi. Oh.My.God. What is wrong with Nicol David?! World number one losing to some Kiwi?! Eeeeeeeeeeeee! As a Malaysian in New Zealand, I feel so malu!

Yen Ling and I were telling Brandon about Nicol David being very good and is a world champion. The next thing you know, she lost.

And Brandon laughed.

@#$%&^*

Someone please dig us a hole.

Oops!

I forgot to mention that my bloggie is officially 2 years old today!

Happy birthday to my bloggie!

Missing.

In action.

Haven't been posting about my Kiwi lifestlye here. I am actually getting very much used to the life here already. It's actuallly no big difference as compared to my life back in KL. Its just that now I have to cook, do my own laundry and walk to campus, not drive. Hehehehehehe. The weather is not as cruel as back home, so it is okay to walk.

Wait till winter comes. I've heard so much about it. Rain rain rain and wet wet wet. The day is short and night is long.

Watched the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony on TV yesterday. Melbourne looks beautiful. Planning to go there during my Easter break with Yi Fan.

Before I came here, I thought everyone knew about Commonwealth Games since its the largest sports event after the Olympic. Oh, I was so wrong. My Japanese and Korean housemates didn't know what it is. They thought it was the Winter Olympic or the Paralympics. -_-"' I forgive them. They are not part of the Commonwealth anyway.....

Paaaaarrrrrrrrtttttyyyyy!

Remember about the costume party I was telling you guys in the past few days? It was a BLAST! Here's a picture showing you some of us who dressed up according to the costumer requirements. All costumes must begin with the alphabet A, B or F, which stand for Annie, Brandon and Ferrren.

My housemates thought I am not gonna dress up because I told them I couldn't get any costume from the shop the other day. Actually, I managed to rent this Bunny costume and hid it away from them. I told them that since I couldn't get anything, I might be myself or as an auntie (this is what they all call me here!!). Till the very last moment, they still thought I am sticking with the old plan until I 'hopped' into Vy Wen's room and gave them all a shock of their lives! After the initial shock, they burst out laughing. Hmpph! As for Crystal, everyone expected her to dress up as someone sexy because that's her style. I convinced her to be different and hence she rented this Alice in Wonderland costume. Everyone was shocked, no doubt!

I have this round furry tail at the rear of my costume and everyone seemed to love it soooo much. It's cute but it gets pretty uncomfortable to sit because the tail gets in the way!

Anyone remembers Eugene Tho??? Others who have no idea who this guy is, he is the guy I bumped into in a bus in Auckland. Lost contact for almost 10 years and I can't believe we bumped into each other here, all the way in New Zealand! Invited him to the party but unfortunately he didn't dress up. Nevertheless, he seemed to have fun and mixed well with my bunch of friends.

The usual suspects with Kate, Yohei's girlfriend. She won best costume!

Here's all 10 of us from 2 arranged apartments next to each other. The pembuat kecoh of Wellesley Student Apartments (at least for level 13) from 13D and 13E

It's our pppppaaaaaarrrrrrtttttyyyyyy!!

^_^

Awwwwwww... isn't this great? I've just collected two parcels from the reception desk downstairs. It's my birthday present from my 'niece' and my 2nd brother's family.

I see chocolates.

I see chocolates in nice wrapping box.

With red ribbon.

And nice gold prints.

Yummy.

Bob.

The costume birthday party for me, Brendon and Ferren is this coming Friday. With only limited choices (costumes beginning with A,B or F only) in mind, I went to the costume shop in K Road with Crystal.

Instead of looking out for my costumes, I donned a totally irrelevant one. Spongebob Squarepants. This is donned entirely for Yen Ling who has this lurveeeeee for Spongebob. Obviously I am trying to make her jealous. Hehehehe. :D

Back home, me and my brother used to play this Spongebob game we "created" when there were no customer in the cafe. Try saying 'Spongebob Squarepants' over and over again in the faster way. If you can say 'Spongebob Squarepants' in fast mode at least twice, I salute you. Keep in mind that you have to pronounce each syllabus!

See? We were THAT bored and LAME. (-_-"')

By the way, Happy Birthday to myself. First birthday outta Malaysia. It didn't feel like a birthday at all. Maybe like how Cyndi put it, "old edi maaa". Oh well.. Thanks a lot to you guys who wished me. Really appreciated it and felt warm all over!

Junnyyyy! Thanks for the sms all the way from Edinburgh! You're the best! *muacks*

Introduction.

I realised I didn't make any introduction about my partners in crime in Auckland to you guys yet.

On my left is Vy Wen from Shah Alam. Her room is just next to mine. She's the other person I love to bully (the other being Yen Ling) and kacau when I have nothing else better to do :p

On my right is Yen Ling, the siao char bor who made this whole apartment arrangement thingy for me. 2 Bliques under one roof is enough to bring the whole apartment come crashing down!

Next to Yen Ling is Crystal, this girl from Hong Kong. She stays at the apartment next door (also part of the arrangement) but always come over to ours to lepak. She's always calling us "honey", "baby", "darling"... you get the idea. I can never cook with her as we have conflicting ideas! Someday we'll just end up chopping each other up!

I think our guy housemates gets pretty annoyed when we get together. Imagine all the noises and laughters 4 girls can generate!

Funny.

My Korean housemate is so freaking cute! He had this pingpong match with Jack (our neighbour) last week and the loser is supposed to wash the winner's toilet. So today, Jack came to our apartment and scrubbed the guy's toilet! Imagine a buff ex-Korean national serviceman, squatting at the toilet and scrubbing the floor with a huge ass brush and toothpaste!

Well, according to his Korean counterpart, toothpaste works really well for cleaning...

All these Korean guys looked damn serious and stuffs but when we went karaoke last week, they were all singing romantic, slow Korean songs! So funny weih!

Again!

The fire alarm went off AGAIN. It was freezing cold outside and no way I am gonna participate in the drill. Slowly, people poured onto the street. Yen Ling and I watched from her room.

Brendon (our Korean housemate) came into the house and said he smelled smoke. Shit. It means that it's real and we have to evacuate. When we were about to walk out of the door, they off the alarm. @#$%&*

We looked out the window and people started walking in to the apartment. A fire truck drove pass the building. Well, it seems like someone triggered the fire alarm.

Not a drill but since they do the fire drill so often, people automatically assume its a drill. If we become roast pigs, you'll know who to look for on our behalf.

In just 5 days, I heard the fire alarm 3 times! How would I know which is real and which is not?!

Muahaha!

I was dreading today's class. It was a Marketing Management class from 2pm till 3pm. So lame la.

Since Vy Wen and I both have a 2pm class, we walked to campus together. I was heading to the WF building (Faculty of Business) and she was heading for WT (Faculty of Arts). Just when I was about to walk into class after coming out from the toilet, the fire alarm went off.

"Please evacuate the building by using the nearest fire exit"

Fire drill!!!!!

Hahahahaahahahhaha! Like a dream come true la. By the time the class starts, 15 minutes has already gone. ;)

Fire drill during class is good. Fire drill when we are in the apartment is bad.

I am sure Vy Wen will be so jealous! :p

Walk The Line

Golden Globe winners and Oscar nominees. How can I not watch it? Managed to watch this movie today at SkyCity Metro with Vy Wen. Nice 2 hours long movie. The cinema wasn't crowded and the ticket is cheap (NZ$5). Well, okay. Its not that cheap if I convert it to RM but heck, I need some form of entertainment sometimes.

Before heading to the movie's, there was a fire drill. Again. I was loitering, Yen Ling was washing the dishes, Vy Wen was showering and Yohei was about to head to class. Fire drill = no elevator so Yohei had to walk down 13 flights of stairs. So kesian! As usual, there were lotsa people outside the building. We were contemplating if we wanna participate or not. The RA came over and told us to 'evacuate'. We agreed but by the time we wanna leave the house, the alarm was off. Hehehe. Nasib. So we stayed in the house.

Seriously, if they kept doing this drill thingy, when the real thing comes no one will believe it. Judging from the condition, the first group who will no evacuate is us.
